Yeah, IPL has produced some top quality world class bowlers and has also witnessed world class bowlers participation in the league. The main aim of bowlers will be to take wickets and check the run flow to as little as possible. In this article we will see the list of bowlers who were fastest to reach the milestone of scalping 100 wickets in this league. 


10. Jasprit Bumrah (89 innings): 


Jasprit Bumrah, World's best bowler is a part of Mumbai Indians and has been a consistent and reliable player for the team since his debut. He is known for his variations and death bowling abilities and is a nightmare to the batsmen. He took his 100th wicket for Mumbai Indians against RCB. On 28th October 20120, he took the prized wicket of Virat Kohli to reach this milestone. He bowled a low full toss and Kohli lofted it straight to the hands of Saurabh Tiwari who took it with ease. The match was won by MI by 5 wickets and Bumrah became 10th fastest to reach this milestone.

 

09. Dwayne Bravo (89 innings): 


Dwayne Bravo was the purple cap holder for CSK in 2013 and 2015. He also holds the record for most wickets in an ipl season for 32 wickets in 2013. He reached this milestone of 100 wickets in 2015 against Mumbai Indians in his 89th innings. He took the wicket of Mumbai opener Parthiv Patel when he was looking good to break the opening partnership which was troubling Chennai. But still Mumbai won the game by 25 runs. 


08. Sandeep Sharma (87 innings): 


Sandeep Sharma is a right arm medium pace bowler who has been part of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab in IPL. He got to his hundredth wicket in his 87th innings for Sunrisers against Punjab. He bowled a good length ball around the wicket tempting Mandeep Singh to go for a big slog shot. But Mandeep didn't time it well and Rashid Khan took a stunner to dismiss Mandeep and hand 100th wicket for Sandeep Sharma in IPL. But SRH lost the match by 16 runs in the end.


07. Sunil Narine ( 86 innings): 


Sunil Narine, a veteran spinner who plays for West Indies and Kolkata Knight Riders has been one of the most valuable players for KKR throughout the league. In the match against Delhi, on 16th March 2018, he scalped his 100th wicket. He bowled a loopy off break length ball to Morris who in the search of hitting big, miscued the ball allowing it to shatter the stumps behind him. 


06. Yuzvendra Chahal (84 innings) 


Master-mind spinner Yuzvendra Chahal completed 100 IPL wickets in 84 matches. He was a consistent performer for RCB for many years, till he was bought by Rajasthan and he is the leading wicket taker in 2022 in IPL. He got his man Yusuf Pathan in a match against SRH as 100th victim for his spin in IPL. He bowled a slower length ball wide outside the stump, Yusuf tries to go big but the pace of the ball makes the ball go to extra cover where Umesh Yadav takes simplest of catches c

05. Ashish Nehra (83 innings): 


Ashish Nehra, veteran fast bowler of Team India and the current bowling coach of Gujarat Titans was a nightmare to bowlers in his peak. He got his 100th wicket while playing for Hyderabad against RCB. He removed Sreenath Aravind as his 100th scalp by bowling a straight full length ball that hit the leg stump leaving no room for Arvind. SRH won the match by 35 runs. 


04. Amit Mishra (83 innings): 


Amit Mishra, one of the leading wicket taking spinners of IPL has achieved the milestone of 100 wickets in just 83 innings and joint third fastest to reach this. He reached this by scalping the wicket of well set Mayank Agarwal when he was at 25. He bowled a length ball outside off, Mayank tried to hit towards extra cover, but Warmer kept his eyes on the ball and took a sharp catch.  In that match Hyderabad won the match to add to the celebration of Amit Mishra's 100 wickets.


03. Rashid Khan ( 83 innings): 


The spin wizard of world cricket, who still remains a nightmare to batsmen in all formats has also been a destructive bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad till he was bought by Gujarat in 2022 IPL. Many batsmen still try to play defense against Rashid Khan even in T20 cricket. He got his 100th wicket while playing for Gujarat against KKR by taking on Venkatesh Iyer. Rashid bowled a leg break and Venkatesh Iyer tried to take on the wrong man and Abhinav Manohar took a stunner at the ropes to hand over 100th wicket to the best spinner in the tournament. He was awarded man of the match for his heroics with the ball in this match.


02. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (81 innings): 


Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, the most reliable bowler who has been a consistent and experienced bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad for many years. He removed a well set batter Manan Vohra who was at his 95 and was the only hope for Punjab with a beautiful delivery to trap him for lbw. This wicket saved the match for SRH and even got fifer in the match and won man of the match as he was the key to SRH win on that day.



01.Lasith Malinga (70 innings): 


Lasith Malinga, the Yorker King known for his unique bowling style was key wicket taker for Mumbai Indians. He was the first and fastest to reach the 100 wickets mark in IPL in only 70 innings. On May 18th, 2013, in a match between Mumbai and Punjab, Malinga removed Praveen Kumar with a sharp Yorker for Duck on the last ball of the innings to restrict Punjab for 183 in the 1st innings. But Mumbai were all out for 133 and lost the match. But Malinga was again highest wicket taker in that match scalping 3 wickets.
