During the Rajasthan Royals vs
Mumbai Indians (RR vs MI) IPL 2024 match at Jaipur, Indian leg-spinner
Yuzvendra Chahal created IPL history by becoming the first bowler to complete
200 IPL wickets.
After Mumbai Indians chose to bat
first, they had a hard start by losing the top three wickets for only 20 runs on
the board. Tilak Varma (65 off 45 balls; five fours and three sixes) and Nehal
Wadhera (49 off 24 balls; three fours and four sixes) provided strong fightback
for the five-time IPL winners, as Mumbai Indians managed to score 179/9 in 20
overs.
Among the Rajasthan Royals
bowlers, Sandeep Sharma took five wickets (5/18), while Trent Boult scalped two
wickets (2/32). Also, Avesh Khan (1/49) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1/48) picked up
one wicket each.
In reply, Rajasthan Royals comfortably chased the 180-run target in 18.4 overs after losing only one wicket, majorly thanks to the opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit his second IPL century. While Jaiswal scored 104 not out in 60 balls (nine fours and seven sixes), Jos Buttler scored 35 runs and the skipper Sanju Samson was not out for 38 runs.
