This is perhaps the most exclusive club in IPL history as only six batters are a part of it and we are here to tell you who was the fastest among these six to get to this landmark and along the way we will talk about each of these six greats as all of them deserve to be celebrated equally. The time they took may be slower but that doesn’t diminish their accomplishment one bit.
These six batters are the best of the best when it comes to the IPL and they have played so well for a lot of years and that’s the reason why they have been able to reach the 5000 run mark in the IPL and some of them will go on to make many thousands of runs in the seasons ahead and we might get 1-2 more additions to this club in this year. So, let’s see this illustrious list.
David Warner – 135 Innings for 5000 Runs
This is simply staggering that David Warner is number 1 on this list by 22 innings and thus just goes to show that he has been a champion of the IPL and a regular run scorer year after year and his best years were for the Sunrisers Hyderabad whom he took to the title on his own jn 2016. He has a total of 5449 Runs till now and also scored 4 IPL hundreds in the IPL and in the upcoming season we can expect another 500+ runs to be added to this score. A truly special player and IPL is lucky to have him.

The next batter on this list is also an IPL legend and he did this feat in 157 innings and now he is the highest scorer in the history of the IPL with 6283 runs with 5 hundreds. He is the benchmark for consistency and the season he had in 2016 where he scored 973 runs was crazy and likely never to be repeated again. We can expect Virat at his best again this year and he has got all these runs playing for only one IPL team which is RCB.
AB De Villiers- 161 Innings for 5000 Runs
The third batter on this list is one of the two greatest entertainers in the history of the IPL and someone who was loved by all the fans irrespective of the teams they loved. He was the glue of the RCB team along with Virat and he was a star and he scored a total of 5162 IPL runs in his career and sadly he is retired so we won’t see him again this season.
Shikhar Dhawan- 168 Innings for 5000 Runs
The fourth batter on this list is another IPL legend who has come into his own since the last two IPL seasons where he has been scoring close to 600 runs with a strike rate of 140 which is very impressive. He has a total of 5784 IPL runs now and there is no doubt that he will add another 500+ runs this year as well. A true yeah man is Shikhar Dhawan.
Suresh Raina - 173 Innings for 5000 Runs
Mr IPL is here finally, Suresh Raina is the fifth batter on this list and he is someone who is synonymous with the IPL and hence the name of Mr IPL. He was the glue to the batting of CSK and everyone loved him and he has a total of 5528 IPL runs in his career and it was very sad to see that he was not bought in the IPL but his legacy will be unmatched as Mr IPL forever.
