Bowlers who dismissed a player on most number of occasions in IPL history

This is one stat in the IPL that whenever a new batter comes out to bat and by chance the same bowler is bowling who has got him out many times then the broadcasters keep showing this stat for the whole duration of his innings and this is one of the worst records for a batter to have and more popularly this batter is known as a “Bunny” of that particular bowler and no matter how hard he tries to play him in a different way the same bowler gets him out and this is frankly not a good look for the batter.

As we talked before that for the batters this star is one of the worst ever but for the bowlers it’s like getting your favorite candy and then getting to eat it too , when they see the same batter who he has gotten out so many times come out there is a spring in his step that he is mine and the captain immediately gives him the next over. So, let’s look at the Top 5 instances when this has happened the most.

Zaheer Khan to MS Dhoni (7 Times Dismissed)

This is a rather surprising stat as one would have thought that Graeme Smith will take the first place here as well like he does in international cricket because the universal rule was that Zaheer Khan will always get Graeme Smith out but considering the fact that MSD has a perennial weakness against the left arm fast bowlers it can be seen why MS Dhoni would give his wicket to Zak so much. He has bowled to Dhoni in 13 IPL innings and for more than 50% of the time it was Zaheer who got him out whether he was playing for CSK or Pune ,it didn’t matter . This is another proud stat for the great Zaheer Khan to have who is one my all time favorite fast bowlers.

Sandeep Sharma to Virat Kohli (7 Times Dismissed)

Seeing Virat Kohli in this list is as shocking as seeing Mumbai or Chennai not winning the IPL. And if ever there was a bowler who would have this sort of record against Virat Kohli without being disrespectful to Sandeep, all of us would have thought it should be Bumrah or Rabada or a leg spinner but we have seen for a number of years the swing bowling of Sandeep Sharma has troubled Virat Kohli a lot and more often than not he has got him out bowled. I personally have seen a number of those dismissals and in the 15 IPL innings he has bowled at him getting Virat Kohli out 7 Times is a record that will be very dear to one of the most underrated IPL bowlers ever in Sandeep Sharma.

Ravichandran Ashwin to Robin Uthappa (7 Times Dismissed)

Another combination that I am personally surprised to see and not because it’s Ashwin but because one would have thought that a left handed batter would have been here instead of Robin Uthappa because Ashwin gets 75% of his wickets by getting left handed batters out so to be Robin Uthappa who is such a good player of spin bowling on this list is a bit shocking but this is the IPL so anything can happen here. Ravichandran Ashwin is a very clever bowler and it looks like he outfoxed Robin Uthappa 7 Times out of the 19 they faced which means Ashwin likes bowling to Robin Uthappa and this year we will see the same tactic.

Sunil Narine to Rohit Sharma (7 Times Dismissed)

This is the first combination that has not surprised me at all because I have seen the difficulty that not only Rohit Sharma but the majority of batters have when they play against Sunil Narine in the history of the IPL and it could have been any batter but as luck would have it , Rohit Sharma is on this list so that makes it 3 of the most celebrated IPL players that have found a mention on this list and that is shocking. Rohit Sharma was unable to read Sunil Narine and he got him out either bowled or caught out. And since both of these great players will play for a few more years the number can increase in the coming years.

Amit Mishra to Rohit Sharma (7 Times Dismissed)

It is not a good time to be Rohit Sharma right now as this is the second back to back mention of the Hitman on this list and this time it is a leg spinner from India who has got him out 7 Times so between an off spinner and a leg spinner Rohit Sharma has got out 14 Times to only 2 Bowlers in IPL history and that is not a record any batter would want to have and especially the caliber of Rohit Sharma. Amit Sharma is one of the greatest in the history of the IPL and the only Bowler in IPL history to take 3 Hat tricks. Thankfully for Rohit the count will remain on 7 against Amit Mishra.
