On the second day at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou (China), India won the first gold medal as the men's 10 metre air rifle team set up a new world record to secure the gold medal. The nation added two more bronze medals from shooting on the same day.

On Monday (September 25), the Men’s 10 Metre Air Rifle Team event was organized at the 19th Asian Games, where Rudrankksh Patil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Divyansh Singh Panwar guided the Indian team to the historic gold medal by setting up a world record. It was India’s 10th Asian Games gold medal in shooting, but first ever in the rifle events.

India finished the event with a combined score of 1893.7. The previous World Record was 1893.3 by the Chinese team at the ISSF World Championships 2023 in Baku, Azerbaijan last August.
In the men's 10 metre air rifle team Asian Games event, South Korea won the silver (1890.1), and the hosts China won the bronze (1888.2).
Indian shooters Rudrankksh scored 632.5, while Aishwary and Divyansh finished with 631.6 and 629.6 points, respectively. In the final individual rankings, Rudrankksh was in the third position, Aishwary finished in the fifth spot, and Divyansh managed the eighth place.

Meanwhile, in the eight-man final Men’s 10 Metre Air Rifle individual event, where only two shooters of each nation could enter the final, Divyansh missed out on the squad. While the Chinese Lihao Sheng (253.3) won the gold medal and South Korean Hajun Park (251.3) claimed the silver medal, Indian Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (228.8) managed the podium finish with a bronze medal.
Another Indian Rudrankksh Patil ended the individual final event in the fourth position with 208.7 points.

On the other hand, the Indian team clinched another bronze medal in the Men’s 25 Metre Rapid Fire Pistol Team event. Adarsh Singh, Vijayveer Singh, and Anish Bhanwala were the Indian teammates who combinedly scored 1718 points. Although India had the same points as the fourth-placed Indonesia, India snatched the bronze medal for more inner-ten (India 45, Indonesia 37).
China set up the world record in the event to win the gold medal with 1765 points, while South Korea won the silver with 1734 points.
