During the Asian Shooting Championship 2023,
Arjun Babuta and Tilottama Sen both won silver medals to secure Paris 2024
Olympics quotas for their respective events for India.
In the Asian Shooting Championship 2023 in
Changwon (South Korea), the men’s 10m air rifle and women’s 10m air rifle
events were also part of the qualifying tournament for the Summer Olympics 2024
in Paris. The top two shooters of each event (only one per country) would book
the national quota for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
On 27 October, the Indian shooter Arjun Babuta
won the silver medal in the men’s 10m air rifle event. On the same day, Tilottama
Sen finished second in the women’s 10m air rifle event to secure the silver
medal.

the 15-year-old Tilottama Sen finished sixth position during the qualifying
round with 630.5 points. However, she performed strongly in the final as her

medal in the same event but missed out on securing any further quota for the
nation. South Korean Kwon Eun-ji won the gold medal in that event.
Previously, Rudrankksh Patil and Mehuli Ghosh secured one Indian quota each for
the men’s 10m air rifle and the women’s 10m air rifle, respectively, for the
Paris 2024 Olympics.
