It looks like Manu Bhaker cannot stop winning medals at the Paris Olympics 2024. And Sarabjot Singh has made a remarkable comeback from the 9th place in the Individual Event Qualification. This is the second medal for India at the Paris Olympics. After 12 years , India has won medals in shooting. This is the first Olympic Medal for Sarabjot Singh. They won this Bronze Medal in the Mixed 10M Air Pistol Event.

On 29th July there was a qualification round in the Mixed 10M Air Pistol that took place between 17 teams to get to the Top 4. India had 2 teams that were in the fray. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh qualified in 3rd place with a score of 580 points. They were just 1 behind Serbia who scored 581 points and qualified in second place. The top place was earned by Turkey with 582 points. South Korea qualified 4th with a score of 579 points. The final was scheduled for 30th July at 1 PM IST.
The opponents for India were South Korea in the Bronze Medal Match. The shooters from South Korea were Oh Ye- Jin and Lee Wonho. The rules of this match were that the first team to get to 16 points wins the match. Both the shooters will take 1 shot each and the scores are combined and the winner is determined for each series. The first series was won by Korea with a score of 20.5 as India only scored 18.8. However things started to turn around from the second series. In the second series, India scored 21.2 points and Korea made 19.9. In the 3rd series, India scored 20.8 and Korea hit 19.8. In the 4th series India scored 20.7 and Korea came close with 20.5. India were leading by 6-2. India won the 5th series with a score of 20.1 against 19.5 of Korea.
Korea won the 6th series 20.6 as compared to 20.2 for India. India won the 7th series and Korea won the 8th series. In the 9th and 10th series India won and they took their lead to 14-6 . India just needed one more series win to get the Bronze Medal. However Korea won the next 2 series 19.8 vs 19.3 and 21.0 vs 20.8. It was 14-10 and India needed to win the next series. And in the 13th series , India hit 19.6 which was not a good score but the shooters from Korea hit a poor 18.5 which meant that India won by 16-10 and won the Bronze Medal. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have made history and India won the second medal at the Paris Olympics.

Manu Bhaker is only 22 years old but she has seen it all. She has won a total of 15 Gold Medals in all various competitions and a total of 20 Medals including 3 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze. At Tokyo 2020, Manu Bhaker had a horror time as she was just 18. Her Pistol had a malfunction and she had a falling out with her coach Jaspal Rana and she even contemplated quitting the sport in 2023. She called Jaspal Rana asking to train her for the Paris Olympics and from there till now it has been a remarkable journey. She has won a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal at the World Championships of Shooting. Manu Bhaker has become an all time legend in Indian sport and she still has multiple Olympic Games left in her. Earlier, she won the bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event.

Sarabjot Singh is an Indian shooter who has just won a Bronze Medal in the Mixed 10M Air Pistol Event at the Paris Olympics. Sarabjot Singh has finished 9th in the qualification in the Men’s 10M Air Pistol Event. Sarabjot Singh has won a Gold Medal at the 2022 Asian Games in the 10M Air Pistol Team and Silver Medal in the 10M Air Pistol Mixed Team. He has also won a Gold Medal at the 2019 World Championship in the 10M Air Pistol Jr Men Individual Event. He was born in Ambala, Haryana. This will be the biggest medal of his career at the Paris Olympics 2024.
