The IPL Trade window and retention of players ended on November 14. The sporting world is gearing up to witness one of the most expected IPL auctions of all time. This is a complete list of players released and retained along with the information about available slots and the remaining purse of all the IPL teams.
The franchises were allocated Rs 82 crore per team for last season. They have been reserved an additional 3 crores making it 85 crores balance each for the 2020 auctions.
While the releasing of players showed up some expected names, there were a few surprises in the store as well. In total, 71 players have been released by the IPL franchises. It includes 34 overseas cricketers. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals went all out and released as many as 11 players each. One should also keep in mind RR transferred 3 players including Rahane in the trade window. Teams like Chennai and Punjab retained the most number of players.
