During the closing stages of the IPL mega auction almost all the teams bought very good players in the mega auction which went unsold earlier and all the teams were beneficial at the end of it and teams such as KKR and Rajasthan Royals who were not looking so good before the last stages bought efficient buys and showed their auction expertise and in the end all the teams look well balanced.
A total of 17 odd capped international players came back in the accelerated set of the auction and few teams were Saving the money they had to use at this time and at first their fans were so confused but the auction concluded the expertise of the people sitting on those tables came through. So , let’s look at some of the good buys who came at base prices.
Sam Billings (2 Crores):
KKR were in a need of a few players to strengthen their squad and they waited until the acceleration point of the auction to show their cards that they had and one of the best buys at base price was the Wicket-keeper batter from England Sam Billings who would be a great addition to the KKR team and can also be the first choice Wicket-keeper for the KKR side when they play the IPL from thus season.
Alex Hales (1.50 Crores):
KKR did not have an explosive opening partner for Venky Iyer at the Top of the order and this is when they raised the paddle for Alex Hales and acquired his services for the base price of 1.50 crores which is frankly a steal by then and he will also solve the issues of the attacking nature of the batting and he is in great form at the moment so it’s a very good buy.

Umesh Yadav (2 Crores):
The third pick by KKR at the base price of 2 crores and in it they got a reputed Indian bowler who can bowl very fast and hit good lengths as well as well as tonk a few balls in the death overs and he will also solve the problem of the Indian fast bowlers that they had before so it is a good buy at the base price.
Chris Jordan (2 Crores):
This time the CSK team were the ones to get a great player at just his base price and Chris Jordan is a very good buy at the price that they got him and he is one of the best death overs bowlers in the world and under MS Dhoni, he will be at his very best.
Fabian Allen (75 Lakh):
Mumbai Indians got a steal deal in the form of Fabian Allen from the West Indies as he is a very special player of the shortest format of the game and he is also a very useful bowler and one of the best fielders so he will add a lot to the Mumbai Indians team.
Lungi Ngidi (50 Lakh):
This deal should not be even legal because of how big a steal it is at such a low price. Getting a premier fast bowler from South Africa at only 50 lakh who can bowl all deliveries and at the death as well and pick wickets at regular intervals is simply astonishing. Good deal from the Delhi Capitals who are used to getting steaks in this auction.
David Willey (2 Crores):
RCB were the team to get a really good all round cricketer from England at his base price of 2 crores and this is a very good deal for the RCB team as he is a complete all rounder as he can bowl really well and especially the slower deliveries and is very handy with the bat as well.
Rassie Van Der Dussen (1 Crore):
This is one I’d the very best buys at base price and the Rajasthan Royals were very lucky that the other teams did not have any money to counter them and they have got one of the very best batters in the world currently at such a steal deal so they must be over the moon with this and suddenly they have become strong.
Daryl Mitchell (75 Lakhs):
Yet again it is the Rajasthan Royals who at the very end got the explosive New Zealand batter at just his base price of 75 Lakhs which is frankly a very good buy for them as he is the in form batter for New Zealand at the moment and will add a lot to the Rajasthan team going forward.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa (50 Lakhs):
The last good buy at base price deal we will talk about is about Punjab Kings who got the very talented Sri Lanka batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa at just 50 Lakhs which was his base price and he could have easily home for a lot more and getting such a talented and destructive batter at this price is a very good deal for Punjab.
