This is one of the most prestigious awards for the teams after the IPL trophy itself.
The fair play is awarded each year by the IPL for the team who plays the game in the right way and is fair to everyone involved. In every match the three umpires who officiate the match which includes the two standing umpires and the third umpire judge both the teams and give the points out of 10 based on their conduct during the game.
Points System
A team can be awarded a total of 10 points per match and four out of those 10 points is given as to how much in the spirit of the game both the teams have played in according to the umpires. Then there are 3 other criterias on which Two points each are given to the teams and those include Respect towards the opposition which the team is playing against, respect towards the laws of the game and respect towards the umpires. The teams get two points each if the umpires feel that their performances are good and if they feel that the team has not performed to the desired standards then they get Zero.
