2. Brendon McCullum (118 Runs in fours and sixes):
Now let’s talk about the innings that catapulted the IPL in just it’s first night of action when the Kolkata knight Riders took on the Royal Challengers Bangalore and on that night it was the Brendon McCullum show and the world was looking in awe at the spectacle in front of them. He hit 13 sixes to all parts of the ground, one hand sixes in the second tier and reverse sweeps and also hit 10 fours throughout his marathon innings which helped not only him but the IPL take off at 100 miles an hour and it became the league as we know it ,so we all fans have Brendon McCullum to thank for his 158* on the inaugural day of the IPL.

3. AB De Villiers (112 Runs in fours and sixes):
Let’s talk about an innings which was one of the best innings in the shortest format of the game in any match because of the genius we saw that day against Gujarat Lions and AB De Villiers was in a dangerous mood that day and all his shots were either going for a four or a six. Out of his 129 he scored 112 runs in just fours and sixes. He smashed 12 big sixes showing all his class and also hit 10 crisply timed shots for fours thus bringing to an end an absolutely outstanding innings by a once in a generation player of the cricket ball.
4. Chris Gayle (106 runs in fours and sixes):
Seeing the name of the Universe Boss Chris Gayle twice in this list should come as no surprise to anyone especially considering the fact that he has 6 IPL hundreds to his name and he generally hits a lot of fours and sixes in them. This innings of 128* which he played against the Delhi Daredevils in 2012 was one of his very best. He smacked 13 massive sixes against a good Delhi bowling attack and some he hit out of the ground as well as he hit 7 fours to make fours seem like they are also important to him. 5. Sanath Jayasuriya (102 Runs in fours and sixes):
The fifth name in this illustrious list is one of the best left handed batters to ever play the game of cricket and that is Sanath Jayasuriya. He on this day against the mighty CSK was in his element as he hit fours and sixes all over in his incredible innings of 114* runs and he destroyed the CSK bowlers by hitting 11 huge sixes and 9 fours along the ground and this was the innings which reminded the fans why Sanath Jayasuriya is one of the very best in the business.
