Max Verstappen after winning US Grand Prix 2023

The latest Grand Prix also known as the US Grand Prix was held on Sunday in Austin Texas. This was a race after Max Verstappen had won his 3rd World Championship in a row. This was an important race for the other drivers to see who will come second and in this race Max Verstappen was not the favorite to win from the start. There is still one more race that will be held on US soil and that will be the Las Vegas GP. 


Let’s look at the results of the US Grand Prix 2023 Race Results


As the face starts Lando Norris is leading the race and Carlos Sainz is up to P3 and Max Verstappen is in 5th place. Lap 4 and Lewis Hamilton uses the DRS to get into P3 and he is in a podium position. Max Verstappen is now P4 as he overtakes Carlos Sainz in the 5th lap of the race. Lap 7 and Esteban Ocon is forced to retire once again and the worries continue for Alpine. Lap 11 and Max Verstappen is already in P2 and is chasing Lewis Hamilton for P2. Max Verstappen pits and he goes for medium tyres which will make it a 2 stop race for him. It is Lap 19 in the race and Lewis Hamilton gets the lead of the race and Max Verstappen is in P5. 


Lap 20 of the race and Lewis Hamilton pits for hard tyres but Max Verstappen gets ahead of him. It is Lap 23 of the race and Lando Norris is in front and Max Verstappen is in P2. Lap 25 and Max Verstappen is getting closer to use the DRS on Lando Norris and the race is halfway. Lap 33 of the race and Max Verstappen is 3 seconds ahead of Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton is having his best race. Max Verstappen pitted for hard tyres on Lap 36 seeing Lando Norris doing the same in Lap 35 and Max Verstappen is now in P2. In Lap 39, Max Verstappen gets past Charles Leclerc to get the lead of the race with only 17 laps remaining. Lap 45 and it is getting tense and Mercedes feels that Lewis Hamilton can get past Lando Norris and by Lap 47 he is trying his best to get past Lando Norris to get into the podium. 


Finally at Lap 49, Lewis Hamilton gets Lando Norris and with 7 laps to go he is 5.6 seconds behind Max Verstappen. It is Lap 52 out of 56 and it is looking like Lewis Hamilton will not be able to catch Max Verstappen as he has exerted too much energy. Lap 54 and Max Verstappen is only 3 seconds ahead and he is having problems. However by Lap 56 when the race finishes, he has got his 15th win of the season but this was one of the toughest wins for him and one of the most satisfying as well. It shows that Max Verstappen can win in any situation. After the race it was found that both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have excessively worn rear skid blocks and hence they were disqualified from the race meaning Lando Norris is P2 and Carlos Sainz is in P3.
