The International break is over and now we await the return of the Premier League and other leagues which will be kicking off over the weekend. The fixtures immediately after international break generally come with a quiet affair as the team gets acclimatized after the weeklong break. One of the concerns is injury, but this time around there have been no major injury concerns especially in the Premier League. As the PL returns, those who play FPL will also be looking forward to the transfers to be made ahead of Saturday’s deadline.
Here we are with our Top 5 midfield picks for Gameweek 12:
1. Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Liverpool vs Arsenal
This pick needs no explanation as to why this is our top pick. Mohammed Salah has been exceptional in Premier League this season which has resulted in him being the top FPL pick this season. Having already scored a huge 117 points in 11 gameweeks, Salah is a set and forget and pick.
The game against Arsenal will not be the easiest for Liverpool but they will be looking to bounce back after a defeat against West Ham last time around. If Liverpool are to win, Salah will be in the mix for goals which makes him the top captaincy pick again.
2. Conor Gallagher (£5.9m), Burnley vs Crystal Palace
The Chelsea loanee has impressed everyone in this season’s Premier League with his spirited performances in the middle of the park. Gallagher also earned his maiden England call-up this week as a reward for his performances. With 24 points haul in the last 2 games, Gallagher has seen his stock risen in FPL too.
The midfielder has seen a price rise upto 5.9m having started the season at 5.5m. He currently has ownership of 16.4% which has only increased due to his performances. A key player for Palace, Gallagher will be looking to continue his impressive form against Burnley too.
3. Heung-Min Son (£10.3m), Spurs vs Leeds
The South Korean has been a shadow of his last year’s self and is yet to get back to his best this season. Spurs themselves have been disappointing this season which includes Son. The midfielder has only scored 4 goals and got 1 assist till now which is poor as per his standards. However, with Conte now in charge there might be a change in this.
The match against Leeds will be the first time we actually see Conte’s tactics being implemented after he got a chance to work closely with the players during the international break. Son being one of the key players under Conte too will be expected to be in the mix for goals and assists.
4. Phil Foden (£8.3m), Manchester City vs Everton
The Englishmen has been in exceptional form this season which makes him one of the popular picks in FPL. The youngster has started in the last 5 games and has had 39 points returns. Foden who had an ownership around 8% a few gameweeks back now has 15.1% ownership.
Against Everton, Foden will be looking to carry on his form and play a key role for Manchester City. Manchester City also have a decent fixture run-in which means transferring Phil Foden in can prove to be a good decision.
5. Jarrod Bowen (£6.3m), Wolves vs West Ham
This is one of the differential picks which could be in great demand in the weeks ahead. In the high-flying West Ham side which are currently sitting 3rd, Jarrod Bowen has been under the radar compared to the likes of Benrahma, Antonio and Fornals. However, the winger has been doing his work and is now getting the results.
Bowen has had returns of 9 and 11 in his last 2 games and has 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 6 games. He currently has an ownership of 2.4% which makes him one of the great differentials in the game right now at the price of 6.3m. With West Ham’s current form and Bowen’s form he could be a great pick to help you jump rankings.
