The Premier League returns today after a 2 weeks break in which a lot of action has happened. Many PL stars have switched teams while there are new arrivals in the form of Kulusevski, Bruno Guimaraes and Weghorst to name a few. With PL being back, the FPL managers are active again and ready to surge towards the end of season with their teams intact.
After a low scoring gameweek 23 in FPL for the majority of the managers, there will be changes in the squad as the managers look to set the team for the double gameweeks and blanks ahead.
Here we are with a list of players you should consider looking for in FPL for gameweek 24:
1) Harry Kane (£12.3m) – Tottenham vs Southampton
The Spurs talisman has shrugged off his slow start and is back to scoring goals. Kane has scored 4 goals and got 1 assist in his last 6 games which brings him back into consideration when it comes to FPL. Spurs also have some postponed games to play which makes him one of the crucial picks in the season ahead.
The next 6 fixtures too look favorable for Spurs as they face teams with a FDR of 3 or less in 5 of those 6 fixtures. With Kane back in form and Son returning from injury, Spurs will be a force to reckon which will lead to points for Harry Kane. The forward scored this weekend against Brighton in the FA Cup tie and will look to continue the same when they face Southampton at home.
2) Kevin De Bruyne (£12.2m) – Manchester City vs Brentford
After a long injury layoff which kept him out at the start of the season, De Bruyne is back in form and has become one of the must-buys in FPL. The Belgian is in fine form which has seen him return a haul of 36 points in his last 5 matches. Arguably he is also the least prone to rotation, which gives another reason for him to be considered.
The Belgian will play a key role again when City host Brentford on Wednesday night. Brentford’s away form has been poor, and with the form De Bruyne is in, he looks set to deliver another haul.
3) Jarrod Bowen (£6.7m) – West Ham vs Watford
The West Ham attacker has been a revelation this season. Bowen started the season on a slow note but has been putting in numbers ever since. Bowen listed as midfielder in FPL has accumulated 124 points this season which is second only to Mohammed Salah. With the form West Ham are in and Bowen’s own form, he is one of the hot prospects when it comes to FPL.
Priced at 6.9m, Bowen can be a good long term buy till the end of the season. The Hammers host Watford at home this gameweek, which is another opportunity for a Bowen haul. The Hornets have struggled this season, and Bowen can capitalize on the leaky Watford defence which could reward his owners.
4) Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m) – Liverpool vs Leicester
The Liverpool full-back has been in exceptional form yet again. The attacking potential that Trent possesses is one of the best when it comes to defender. The most selected defender in FPL at 47.1% is also the defender with highest points (144) which makes him one of the must-haves in your squad. Since GW 9, Trent has managed to return an assist or goal in each of the game albeit 4. Such statistics make him one of the popular picks in FPL.
In Gameweek 24, Liverpool host the struggling Leicester which presents another opportunity for Trent to return a big haul. With Salah back in contention too after AFCON, the stakes of having TAA have only increased. Liverpool also has a good run of fixtures ahead which makes him a nailed-on asset in any FPL side.
5) Lucas Digne (£5.1m) – Aston Villa vs Leeds
The defender, after making his move to Aston Villa from Everton looks to have found his mojo back as seen in the first 2 games. Digne also registered his first assist for his new club and showed signs of attacking potential which makes him one of the defenders to look out for in the rest of the season. Priced at 5.1m, Digne could be the 3rd starting defender alongside Trent and Cancelo in the ideal FPL template.
In Gameweek 24, Villa faced Leeds who have been struggling this season. This gives another chance for Digne to extend on his attacking returns and reward the 8.3% of FPL managers who own him. The fixtures for Villa and Digne in the short-term future are favorable too as they face the likes of Newcastle, Watford and Brighton in their next 3 games.
