The WWE Draft is just two weeks away, and the excitement among WWE fans is palpable because this is that time of the year when everything changes in WWE. Superstars switch brands, and NXT superstars get called up to the main roster. This year, the WWE draft will take place over two nights. It will start on April 26 on WWE SmackDown and continue on April 29 on Raw. It has been announced that CM Punk will be present on both nights, thus presenting an interesting opportunity.
Let’s take a look at the five NXT Superstars that will get called up.
Ilja Dragunov
It has more or less been confirmed that Ilja Dragunov will get the call-up
in the WWE draft. He has been the NXT Champion, but he will lose the title soon
to Trick Williams. That will be at NXT Spring Breaking. Ilja Dragunov will get
the call-up most likely to Raw, where Gunther is. WWE wants to eventually build
to Gunther vs Ilja Dragunov at some point. This will be a massive deal for Ilja
Dragunov.
Carmelo Hayes
Another top NXT superstar who will most likely get a call-up in the WWE
draft is Carmelo Hayes. Melo has done everything he could at NXT, and now it is
time to go to the main roster and do his thing. He has been the backbone of NXT
2.0, and he will most likely go to SmackDown, where Bron Breakker is so that
he can help Melo get used to travelling so much. He will be one of the biggest
stars on WWE TV.
Roxanne Perez
The recently crowned NXT champion has been due to get a main roster call-up
for quite some time now. She has turned heel, and she is ready to show her
talent to a much bigger audience. She should go to Raw and strengthen the
women’s division there because they sorely need it. Roxanne Perez can take the
NXT Women’s Championship with her to Raw.
Lyra Valkyria
Another extremely talented female NXT superstar who could get a call-up in
the draft is Lyra Valkyria. She was recently attacked by Tatum Paxley, and she
has done everything in NXT. She has already found fans on the main roster
because of Becky Lynch, whom she beat. Lyra Valkyria will fit right into Raw
and add depth to the women’s division. Lyra Valkyria will be a future
WrestleMania main eventer.
Gallus
Gallus are a faction that has been on the main roster for years, and they are waiting for their opportunity. They recently trained The Rock for his in-ring return at WrestleMania 40. They are three very good wrestlers, and the WWE fans would like to watch them every week. They will fit well on SmackDown. Gallus are way overdue for a main roster run.
