Devon Conway has already become the next big thing in New Zealand Cricket or world cricket who has announced himself is the most complete way a cricketer would dream about or the bloke who is looking to represent himself at the highest level of cricket. Devon Conway has become the first batsman ever in the history of cricket to score double hundred on his debut at the famous venue of Lord's cricket ground. Later in the interaction with Cricinfo, Devon Conway has said,

“That [scoring a century on debut] never came across my mind. Just getting a Test debut, a chance to play at this level, was all I thought about,” ESPNcricinfo quoted Conway as saying.

“Very happy, grateful for the opportunity from Cricket Wellington and also the Black Caps as well. A pretty special feeling, and one I certainly didn’t think about when I made that move,” he added.

Earlier on day one Devon Conway has already broken the record of Sourav Ganguly after surpassing the 131-run milestone which was created by the former at Lord’s. Devon Conway innings helped New Zealand to set the momentum for the big score after the early dents given by England bowlers. As per the records books, Devon Conway has been the only batsman in their entire chronology of cricket to score centuries at Lord's at day one.

New Zealand first innings ended at 378 runs with the match turning knock of Devon Conway 200 runs alongside the valuable contribution of Henry Nicholls 61 runs. Where England ended the day two play at 111 runs for the loss of two wickets with Joe Root and Rory Burns remaining unbeaten. The former England captain Michael Vaughan has said, the game is open for both teams but still visitors have upper hand,

"There might be more swing tomorrow, because the clouds are going to be around. So it's really about England trying to bat out Day 3. If they do so, they will put New Zealand under a lot of pressure. We have also seen England over the last few months get blown away. There's always a little bit of doubt that may happen when the ball starts swinging that little bit more on Day 3. The game is in the balance but I'd rather be in the Kiwi dressing room. Runs on the board, a little bit of uneven bounce and it will play more of a part going into the Test," Vaughan said on Sparksport after the end of the second day's play.
