England have recently played a 5 Match Test Series vs Australia at home and they came back Brilliantly after trailing 0-2 and they levelled the series 2-2 in the end. Now their best test for Bazball will most likely be their hardest test yet because they will travel to India to play a 5 Test Match series and the pitches will not be Like the others that they have played in during these last 2 years. The English team will tour India next year in February 2024.
Let’s look at the challenges of Bazball in India and let’s see whether this method will succeed
The pitches will be slower
The main challenge for the England team will be that he pitches that they will play in will be much slower than they are used to. The BCCI will prepare pitches that will not that easy for batting because then the English team will get the advantage and they will be able to score big runs and bat for over 5 runs per over and if they bat for 100 overs meaning 500 runs in every innings of the series. The Indian team will be put under a lot of pressure and they will not be able to play as fast and only bat at 3 runs per over. Therefore the pitches throughout the series will turn from day 1 so that it will assist the Indian team more.
Playing the Indian spinners will be tricky
This is in line with the first point because the Spinners of the Indian team will get a lot of help from the surface and they will be able to bowl tight line and lengths and not allow the England batters to get out of the blocks quickly and the run rate will be less than 4. The spin trip og Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel will be lethal on these surfaces. And the batters like Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett etc they have no experience of playing such high quality spinners on these types of wickets.
The Test Matches will not go on for 5 days
The Indian team can bat at their usual rare in test cricket in India because hardly a test match in India goes on for 5 days and if England are batting first and they try to go at 6 runs per over the there is a risk that they will get out very soon because they will not know what hit them and the Indian Batters will not have to be on the pitch for long and when their batting comes then they can bat at their normal pace at 3 runs per over and they can tire out the English Bowlers and then in the second batting innings of England, the Indian bowlers can dismiss the team for less because they will be tired from fielding for over 100 overs and the match will finish quickly. The important thing is to win the series and taking every advantage is a good thing.
