177 vs West Indies (2013)

Rohit Sharma had the perfect start to his test career as in his first test match he made a big hundred in his very first test innings. He came to bat at number 6 and from the get go was on top of the West Indies bowling and never allowed to pick any more wickets. He faced a total of 302 balls and made 177 runs with 23 fours and 1 six meaning a total of 98 runs in boundaries. His strike rate was 58.80 and it was a statement from him that he was here to stay.


176 and 127 vs South Africa (2019)

This was simply an extraordinary batting performance by Rohit Sharma against a top quality side and this was the starting of his test revival. He made a total of 303 runs in this test match which is astonishing. In the first innings he made a brilliant 176 runs from 244 balls and in this brutal innings he hit 23 fours and 6 sixes meaning a total of 128 runs out of 176 in boundaries. The only double hundred In the career of Rohit Sharma in test cricket has to be on this list and it was in the same series vs South Africa. India were batting first and while opening the batting Rohit Sharma batted for 255 balls and scored 212 runs and in this innings he hit 28 Fours and 6 sixes meaning a total of 148 runs in boundaries and his strike rate was an incredible 83.14. He loved batting against South Africa and India won this match by an innings and 202 Runs.


127 vs England (2021)

His first overseas hundred came in the most difficult of batting pitches and I know that this would have been the most special hundred for Rohit Sharma so far in his test career. The match was evenly poised when Rohit Sharma in the second batting innings played the knock of his life when in 256 balls he made 127 runs while hitting 14 fours and 1 six in the innings. His strike rate was 49.61 and he hung in there and it was due to his heroics that India won this test match by 157 runs.


68* vs New Zealand (2016)

The fifth performance in this list is another away performance, it was not a hundred but it was as good as any. In the first innings coming lower down he made an useful 35 but his heat for this match was saved for the second innings. In the second innings he came at number 6 and just smashed the ball to all parts and he hit 8 fours and 3 sixes in this innings meaning a total of 50 runs in boundaries and he was striking at an impressive 73.12. And India won this test match by 197 runs.
