Ashes Series 2021 – The blockbuster series of the year has started when Australia lock horns against England in Ashes Series 2021. After losing the first test match by 9 wickets, it seems England has remained at the receiving end in the second test match too.

Joe Root valiant effort in second innings
With massive lead of 278 runs and having lost both the openers in quick time. Joe Root and Dawid Malan came into to rescue the side from uncertainties. After first innings failure, Joe Root continued his test form of 2021 year and put on absolute class of batting with brilliant batting alongside Dawid Malan.

England was in the match till the time both batsman were on the crease and into their 80s batsmen – England was heading towards draw. But Nathan Lyon 400th wicket when Dawid Malan was caught out – changed the equation of the game.
With this wicket, England had lost momentum soon and captain himself Joe Root who was inches close for his hundred. England all out at the score of 297 runs in the second innings and gave the easy target of 20 runs to Australia which they had chased down with 9 wickets in hands.

Australia with 1-0 up in the series has the bad news before the test match when Josh Hazelwood and Pat Cummins ruled out of the match. With the replacement and Steve Smith as a captain, Australia commence the second test match after winning the toss and decided to bat first.
