The sport of Tennis has completed its schedule at the Paris Olympics 2024. On 4th August 2024, the last of the finals were played and all the champions were crowned. Some lifelong dreams have come true and some players have emerged as world beaters. There were the Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles.

Men’s Singles

The number 1 seed in this competition was Novak Djokovic and the number 2 seed was Carlos Alcaraz. The Top 4 Players that reached the semi finals were

  • Novak Djokovic of Serbia

  • Carlos Alcaraz of Spain

  • Lorenzo Musetti of Italy

  • Felix Auger Aliassime of Canada


One of the semi finals was between Novak Djokovic vs Lorenzo Musetti. This was a one sided match in which Novak Djokovic won the match in 2 sets 6-4 and 6-2. With this win Novak Djokovic advanced to the Gold Medal Match and Lorenzo Musetti advanced to the bronze medal match. Carlos Alcaraz vs Felix Auger Aliassime was even more one sided as Carlos won by 6-1, 6-1.


The Bronze Medal Match was between Lorenzo Musetti vs Felix Auger Aliassime. This match was a 3 setter and Lorenzo Musetti won the first set 6-4 but lost the second set by 1-6. It was everything to play for and in the deciding set Lorenzo Musetti won by 6-3 and he was an Olympic Bronze Medalist. The Gold Medal Match was between Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz. This was a 2 hour and 50 minutes classic. Both the sets were 6-6 before the tie break. Novak Djokovic won both tie breaks and he completed it by winning the Career Golden Slam which means all the 4 Grand Slams and the Olympic Gold Medal in Singles.

Women’s Singles

The Women’s Singles was where all the shocks were coming from. The Top 4 that advanced to the semi finals were

  • Iga Swiatek of Poland

  • Qinwen Zheng of China

  • Donna Vekic of Croatia

  • Anna Karolina Schmiedlova of Slovakia


The first semi final was between Iga Swiatek vs Qinwen Zheng. Qinwen Zheng beat the best clay court player in the world in straight sets by 6-2 and 7-5 and she advanced to the Gold Medal Match. Iga Swiatek would play in the Bronze Medal Match. The other semi final was between Donna Vekic vs Anna Karolina Schmiedlova. Donna Vekic  won the match by 6-4 and 6-0.


Iga Swiatek won the Bronze Medal Match by a commanding 6-2 and 6-1. This was her first medal at the Olympics for Poland. In the final Qinwen Zheng won the Gold Medal and she won the match by 6-2 and 6-3. Qinwen Zheng of China had created history.

Men’s Doubles

There was considerable interest in the Men’s Doubles at Paris Olympics. This was because Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz were teaming together and playing for Spain. They reached the quarter final but were eliminated. The Four teams that reached the semi finals were-

  • Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul of USA

  • Adam Pavlasek and Tomas Machac of Czechia

  • Matthew Edben and John Peers of Australia

  • Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek of USA


Tayor Fritz and Tommy Paul from the USA and the team from Czechia were playing the Bronze Medal Match. The American team won the Bronze Medal as they won the match 6-3 and 6-4. The Gold Medal Match was between the team from Australia and Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek from USA. This was an incredible match. The Australian team won the first set 7-6 but the team from the USA won the second set by 7-6. It then went to a decider and Australia were the first team to reach 10 points and thus they won the Gold Medal.

Mixed Doubles

Mixed Doubles was also part of the Medals program at the Olympic Games. The four teams that reached the semi finals were –

  • Felix Auger Aliassime and Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada

  • Wesley Koolhof and Deni Schuurs of Netherlands

  • Tomas Machac and Katerina Siniakova of Czechia

  • Zheng Zhichen and Wang Xinyu of China


The teams that played in the Bronze Medal Match were the teams of Canada and Netherlands. The team from Canada won the Bronze Medal as they won the match by 6-3 and the second set was decided by a tie breaker and Canada won by 7-6. The Gold Medal Match was played between the teams of Czechia and China. The team from Czechia won the match. They won the match by 6-2, 5-7 and then 10-8 in the decider. China won the Silver Medal.

Women’s Doubles

The final medal to be decided In the Tennis program for the Paris Olympics 2024 was the Women’s Doubles. The four teams that qualified for the semi finals are-

  • Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini from Italy

  • Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider from Russia

  • Cristina Bucsa and Sara Sorribies from Spain

  • Linda Noakova and Karolina Muchova from Czechia.

The teams that played the Bronze Medal Match were Spain and Czechia. This was a one sided match as Spain won the match by 6-2, 6-2 in 2 sets. The Gold Medal Match was played between Italy and Russia. This was a 3 set match. The first set was won by Russia by 6-2 but Italy made a comeback as they won the second set by 6-1. It was time for the decider and Italy won it by 10-7. This was a tight match for the Gold Medal.
