Jon Moxley – Champion for 277 Days

One of the longest reigns with the championship was by Jon Moxley. He was the AEW World Champion for a massive 277 days which means over 9 months. During his reign Jon Moxley had incredible matches and made this the wrestling championship. He won the championship on 29th February 2020 at AEW Revolution 2020.


Kenny Omega – Champion for 346 Days

The next AEW World Champion was Kenny Omega and he held the title for 346 days which is among the top 3 longest reigns with the Championship. Kenny Omega was the best wrestler in the world at that point. Kenny Omega became AEW World Champion on 2nd December 2020.


Hangman Adam Page – Champion for 197 Days

The next wrestler to hold the AEW World Championship was Adam Page. He was champion for 197 Days and he won the title at AEW Full Gear on 13th November 2021. Adam Page had some of the best matches with the title and he became an even bigger star.


CM Punk – Champion for 87 Days

CM Punk was the next wrestler to win the championship but he only held it for 87 days and had to relinquish it due to injury. He won it on 29th May 2022 at Double or Nothing.


Jon Moxley – Champion for 11 Days

Jon Moxley became the first 2 Time AEW World Champion by beating CM Punk. He beat CM Punk at Dynamite on 24th August 2022. He was champion for only 11 days.


CM Punk – Champion for 3 Days

The second 2 Time World Champion for AEW only held the title for 3 days. This was the most horrible time in AEW as Tony Khan had to suspend Punk from AEW. CM Punk won his second World Championship at AEW All Out.


Jon Moxley – Champion for 59 Days

The first 3 Time AEW World Champion was Jon Moxley and deservedly so as he was the face of the company. Jon Moxley was Champion for the 3rd time for 59 days and he won the title on 21st September 2022 at Dynamite Grand Slam.


MJF - Champion for 406 Days

MJF was the longest AEW World Champion in history and the first to get over the 400 days mark. He won the title on 19th November 2022 at AEW Full Gear. He would then become the greatest AEW Champion in history having banger after banger with everyone.


Samoa Joe – Champion for 113 Days

Samoa Joe won his first title on 30th December 2023 in the Worlds End event. He remained the AEW champion for 113 days before losing to Swerve Strickland in AEW Dynasty.


Swerve Strickland - Champion for 126 days

Swerve Strickland won the title on 21st April, 2024 in AEW Dynasty. He lost to Brian Danielson in AEW All in. He was champion for 126 days. 


Brian Danielson - Champion for 48 days

Brian Danielson became the AEW world champion on 25th August, 2024 by defeating Swerve Strickland at AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium in London, England.


Jon Moxley - Champion for 86 days and counting

Jon Moxley again became the champion on 12th October, 2024. This is his 4th reign. He defeated Bryan Danielson to become the first four-time AEW World Champion at AEW: WrestleDream at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA.
