AEW WrestleDream 2024 Results

AEW WrestleDream is one of those shows for AEW that will be remembered for being the show where a legendary in-ring career came to an end. The show was held in Tacoma Washington In front of 8000 fans. Tony Khan always knows how to deliver on PPVs even if his weekly creative decisions are bad.


Let’s look at the Results of AEW WrestleDream 2024


Jay White beat Adam Page

This was a match between two former members of Bullet Club. Jay White was the face and he slapped Adam Page to start the match. Adam Page got heated and he started beating down Jay White. The crowd was fully behind Jay White as he was struggling to get back in the match. This was a different AEW match as the wrestlers were taking their time and they were selling every move. Jay White would make a comeback and so did the crowd in this match. This was a 17 minute great professional wrestling match. Jay White beat Adam Page with the Bladerunner. Every move in this match mattered because these two wrestlers were beating each other with big moves. The best was Adam Page giving a powerbomb on the steps to Jay White.


Mariah May beat Willow Nightingale for AEW Women’s Championship


The second match on the show was for the AEW Women’s Championship. It was between the two best in the division. This match got to a slow Start but Willow Nightingale hit her signature move early in the match. Mariah May was being a great heel as she got overconfident a lot of times in the match even posing for her fans which included Nigel McGuinness who is her biggest fan. Willow Nightingale did a cartwheel in the match which was perfect. The crowd was on the side of Willow Nightingale and there were times in the match where it looked like she could win and that would make the crowd excited. Mariah May won the match and her reign continues. This was the match that she needed. Mariah May hit the Storm Zero for the win.


Jack Perry beat Katsuyori Shibata for AEW TNT Championship

Jack Perry was the heel in this match and at the start he would take breaks and go to the outside and that would irritate Shibata. This was a stop start match and Jack Perry spat in the face of Shibata which did not go down well with the fans. This was a quick match less than 10 minutes and Jack Perry won when he reversed the submission by Shibata into a pin. After the match Jack Perry continued to beat down Shibata but Daniel Garcia made the save. This resulted in the return of MJF which got a huge reaction and he and Daniel Garcia reignited their feud. MJF started attacking Daniel Garcia but then Adam Cole returned which shocked everyone. Adam Cole and Daniel Garcia showed respect to each other.


Konosuke Takeshita beat Will Osperay and Ricochet for AEW International Championship

This was the best match of the night and one of the best triple threat Matches of all time. At the start of the match Will Osperay and Ricochet teamed up to send Konosuke Takeshita out of the ring. Will Osperay and Ricochet were at their high flying best and Konosuke Takeshita was the power balance between them. There was a sequence in the match where all 3 men were no selling each other’s moves. Poison Ranas were being countered and it took Konosuke Takeshita giving a German Suplex to both men to stop the rally. Don Callis should not be in wrestling. Konosuke Takeshita used all his power and Will Osperay and Ricochet sold for him taking bumps. Ricochet hit a 450 Splash out of nowhere and he was close to winning. At the end of the match as Will Osperay was about to win his tag team partner Kyle Fletcher turned heel on him. Konosuke Takeshita won the match and his first title in AEW. This was a 21 minutes all time classic.


Hologram beat Beast Mortos

This was a 2 out of 3 falls match and it was between two Lucha wrestlers. Hologram is the latest sensation in AEW. He got a good response from the fans. These two men took their time as it was a long match of 16 minutes. The high flying spots were there. Beast Mortos hit a great Rolling Crucifix which had a good impact. Hologram got the first fall while Beast Mortos got the second. It all came down to the last fall and Hologram won the match and extended his streak to 14-0.


Darby Allin beat Brody King

This was a grudge match between two men who hated each other. Darby Allin and Brody King are two young wrestlers who will do big things. This match was brutal and the majority was Brody King beating down Darby Allin. Brody King used the steps to attack Darby Allin and he continued to use his power strength to continuously hit Darby Allin. This was a typical big guy vs small guy match. Darby Allin made comebacks and the crowd got into the match. Darby Allin won the match after 12 minutes after hitting 2 Coffin Drops which is his finisher. This was one of the weakest matches on the show.


The Young Bucks beat Private Party for AEW Tag Team Championship


This was the match which brought the crowd unglued. The Private Party was so over that everyone thought that they would win the tag team titles. Before the match, Private Party has a special video for The Young Bucks. The Young Bucks being the heels that set a trap to get Private Party to fight them before the match and in the process everyone was taken out. Private Party almost won with a Springboard Crossbody but The Young Bucks took control of the match the way they know how. This match was designed to make Private Party stand out and they kicked out of the EVP Trigger which was a signature Move. The Young Bucks won the match. This was a 16 minute tag team classic.


Mark Briscoe beat Chris Jericho for ROH World Championship

This match was the co main event of the show. This was the match for the ROH World Championship. By putting the ROH World Championship in this spot, Tony Khan has shown how important this title is for him. Chris Jericho did the sin of bringing up Jay Briscoe during the build and Mark Briscoe was going to make Jericho pay for it. Both men started hammering and tonking at each other. There were a number of interferences in this match starting with Big Bill who was taken out by The Learning tree. Mark Briscoe planted Chris Jericho through the table. Mark Briscoe hit Jay Driller for the win. This was also a 16 minute match.


Jon Moxley beat Bryan Danielson for AEW World Championship


Bryan Danielson made his entrance but Jon Moxley attacked him as he was making his way to the ring. They started brawling. Jon Moxley was the perfect heel and he was showing his vicious side and hitting stiff shots to Bryan Danielson wanting to injure him and end his career. Marina Shafir interfered in this match a number of times to give Jon Moxley the chance to win. This was a violent match and Jon Moxley was showing all the violence. Nigel McGuinness who does not like Bryan Danielson was conflicted. Jon Moxley asked Bryan Danielson to stay down but he was never going to so Jon Moxley hit the Pile driver. The referee declared the match over and Jon Moxley was the champion. The full time career of Bryan Danielson is over. After the match Claudio and Wheeler Yuta attacked Bryan Danielson and Darby Allin was forced to watch. This sent the fans home irate.
