AEW Full Gear 2024 Results

AEW Full Gear was the second last AEW PPV of the year. It was held in front of more than 10,000 fans which is their largest attendance for a show in the United States in quite some time. This was a mixed bag of a PPV.


Let’s look at the Results of AEW Full Gear 2024


MJF beat Roderick Strong

This was one of the most anticipated matches of the show because it was the return of MJF to the ring. The fans at the arena were not ready to boo MJF despite everything he tried. This was a very good wrestling match where the hand of Strong was injured by MJF. He was attacking the hand of Roderick Strong in a classic professional wrestling move. The back of MJF was targeted by his opponent and the Messiah of the Backbreaker showed why he is one of the best in the world. MJF won the match when he tapped his opponent. After the match was over, MJF attacked Strong with a steel chair but Adam Cole and Kyle O’ Reilly made the save. These two men had a good 14 minute match.


Mercedes Mone beat Kris Statlander for AEW TBS Championship

This was easily the best match in the AEW career of Mercedes Mone and Kris Statlander. Mercedes Mone told Kamille to stay in the back because she wanted to win the match on her own. At the start of the match, Mercedes Mone attacked the knee of her opponent to the point where Kris Statlander was unable to walk. Kris Statlander showed the heart of a great wrestler. She came back in the match and she kicked out of everything Mercedes Mone hit her with. Mercedes Mone hit the Frog Splash but Kris Statlander kicked out. Later in the match, Kris Statlander went for the Tombstone but the champion attacked her knee. Mercedes Mone won with a rollup and this match was 20 minutes of great women’s wrestling.


Jay White beat Adam Page

This match was between one of the founders of AEW and one of the brightest new stars in the company. Following the great women’s match, this was another very good wrestling match. This match had no clear babyface so the fans were cheering for both guys. Adam Page was constantly attacking the ankle of Jay White which was a continuation of their previous matches. Jay White also attacked the knee of Adam Page. It was looking like Adam Page would get one over his Bullet Club rival but Jay White won the match. Adam Page got irate and attacked White after the match.


Kyle Fletcher beat Will Osperay

This was the best match of the show. Kyle Fletcher got a star-making entrance and Will Osperay came out as The Punisher. Will Osperay was dominant at the start and it was an emotional grudge match. The 10,000 fans were into it throughout. Kyle Fletcher attacked Will Osperay and used his high flying against him. Will went for his finisher Tiger Driver but Kyle Fletcher reversed it. Kyle Fletcher in return gave a Tombstone Piledriver on the steel steps. Will Osperay used the ropes to good effect but Kyle Fletcher hit a brain buster to win the match. This was easily the biggest win of his career. Will Osperay put over Kyle Fletcher in a 25 minute classic.


Daniel Garcia beat Jack Perry for AEW TNT Championship

After that Slam dunk of a match between Will Osperay vs Kyle Fletcher, it was time for the buffer match. The mother of Daniel Garcia shared a message for her son and that added to the emotions before the match. The heel Jack Perry was dominant at the start of the match. It was a traditional wrestling match where for the first 7 minutes of the 18, Jack Perry was on top of Daniel Garcia. Daniel Garcia made the comeback and the fans were into him beating Jack Perry. Jack Perry threw a powerbomb through the table and proceeded to throw garbage at him. The end of the match was when Daniel Garcia applied the Sharpshooter and became the new TNT Champion.


Konosuke Takeshita beat Ricochet for AEW International Championship

This was the most disappointing match of the night considering the wrestlers involved. This match did not need to be 19 minutes. The fans at the arena were not interested in this match. This match did not allow the strengths of either man to come to the fore. Ricochet was hitting the moves from the top rope and Konosuke Takeshita was using his power. Konosuke Takeshita hit the Power driver Knee and the avalanche falcon arrow for the win. Ricochet has not yet had a match of the year contender in AEW.


Bobby Lashley best Swerve Strickland

This was the first big match for Bobby Lashley in AEW and it was a very good showing for the veteran. This was 14 minutes which was the perfect length for this match. The fans came alive for this match and they were cheering for both men. Bobby Lashley being the more powerful wrestler got the upper hand in the match. Swerve Strickland took all the punishment and he came back and delivered a powerbomb through the announcers table. He followed it with a Swerve Stomp for a 2 count. Bobby Lashley applied the Hurt Lock which has given him great success. He tapped out Swerve Strickland and the AEW career of Bobby Lashley is off to a great start.


Jon Moxley beat Orange Cassidy for AEW World Championship

This was the main event and this was a good match. Jon Moxley early on in the match bloodied Orange Cassidy and that played a big role for the rest of the match. Orange Cassidy was also in his element as he hit Jon Moxley with three Orange punches. Jon Moxley then took full control of the match and used all his experience. The Death Riders tried to help Jon Moxley but Orange Cassidy had some friends like Private Party, Daniel Garcia etc. Willow Nightingale got one of the biggest pops of the night for coming and attacking Marina Shafir. Orange Cassidy hit Jon Moxley with the briefcase but only got a 2 count. At the end it was Wheeler Yuta who caused the distraction for Jon Moxley to retain his AEW World Championship.


After the match was over The Death Riders wanted to attack Orange Cassidy more but Adam Page made the save to a huge pop. Christian Cage wanted to cash in but Jay White stopped him. To end the show Darby Allin almost hit The Death Riders with a car but they escaped. A great closing angle this was.
