Vijayveer Sidhu: Early life
Vijayveer Sidhu was born on 21st June 2002. Both of his parents are school teachers and encouraged Vijayveer and his twin brother Udayveer to take up sports.
Vijayveer learned about the shooting sport in school. Initially, he started with a rapid-fire pistol and an air pistol, but later, he specialised in the rapid fire pistol.
Shining junior career
In the ISSF Junior World Championships 2018 in Changwon, Vijayveer won a gold medal in the 25m standard pistol men's event. He also finished in fourth place in the 25m pistol men’s event. Similarly, in the ISSF Junior World Cup 2018 in Suhl, Vijayveer clinched gold in the 25m standard pistol men's event and finished in fourth place in the 25m pistol men’s event.
During the ISSF Junior World Championships 2021 in Lima, Vijayveer celebrated with three gold medals (25m standard pistol men, 25m rapid fire pistol men’s team, and 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team).
In the ISSF Junior Cup 2022 in Suhl, Vijayveer shined with two team gold medals (25m rapid fire pistol men’s team and 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team). He also won a bronze medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol men’s event.
Memorable senior debut
Vijayveer’s first assignment in his senior career was the 25m rapid fire pistol men's event at the ISSF World Cup 2021 in New Delhi, where he won a silver medal. In the same competition, his 25m rapid fire pistol men’s team secured another silver medal, while his 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team won the gold medal.

Vijayveer was a member of the silver-winning Indian 25m rapid fire pistol men’s team at the Asian Games 2022. In the Asian Shooting Championships 2024 in Jakarta, Vijayveer clinched a silver medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol men’s event.
