Tajinderpal Singh Toor was born on 13th November 1994. He is from a farmer family in Khosa Pando village in Punjab. Although he practiced cricket in childhood, his father encouraged him in the shot put sport.
Medals in the continental competitions
The five-time national champion shot putter Tajinderpal has won two gold medals in the Asian Indoor Championships (and also one silver medal), Asian Games, and Asian Athletics Championships (and also won one silver medal).
During the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast, Tajinderpal finished in eighth place.

Tajinderpal holds the national record in both the indoor (19.72 m) and outdoor (21.77 m) men’s shot put events.
