Influential family background
Shreyasi Singh was born on 29th August 1991. She is from Gidhaur in Jamui district, Bihar. Her father Digvijay Singh and grandfather Kumar Serender Singh both were Presidents of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). While Digvijay Singh was also a former union minister, her mother Putul Kumari is a former MP from Banka, Bihar.

The sports shooter, Shreyasi is also a politician, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2020. She is a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Jamui.
Junior career success
Shreyasi started to compete in shooting in 2007. In the Junior Asian Championships 2008 in Jaipur, she won a silver medal in the trap women’s event.
Medals in the Asian Games and multiple Commonwealth Games
In the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, Shreyasi’s women’s double trap team won the bronze medal. She also won a silver and gold medal in the women’s double trap events at the Commonwealth Games 2014 (in Glasgow) and 2018 (in Gold Coast), respectively.
Shreyasi won her first ISSF World Cup medal in 2021 in New Delhi when her women’s trap team clinched the gold medal.

Rajeshwari Kumari secured one Indian quota for the Paris 2024 Olympics in the women’s trap event. Later, she confirmed her upcoming Summer Olympics ticket by achieving the top spot in the four-stage national selection trials for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Meanwhile, with her outstanding performances, Manu Bhaker confirmed her place in two positions in the Paris 2024 Olympics: the 10m air pistol women's and the 25m pistol women’s events. It created one vacant position in the Indian women's pistol event quota (India already fulfilled a maximum of two quotas in both the 10m air pistol women’s and 25m pistol women’s events with the selection), which was swapped with one additional Indian quota in the women’s trap event.
While Shreyasi finished in second place in the four-stage national selection trials for the Paris 2024 Olympics, she booked the upcoming Summer Olympics ticket.
