Rhythm Sangwan: Early life
Rhythm Sangwan was born on 29th November 2003. Her father works in a police department. Both of her parents have provided strong support for her sporting career.
Top Junior level successes
In the ISSF World Championships 2021 in Lima, Rhythm celebrated with four gold medals in junior events (25m pistol women’s team junior, 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team junior, air pistol women’s team junior, and 25m standard pistol women’s junior).
In the ISSF Junior Cup 2022 in Suhl, Rhythm shined with two gold medals (25m pistol women’s junior and 25m pistol women’s team junior).
Multiple senior achievements; broke a 29-year-old world record
Since 2022, Rhythm has already recorded four ISSF World Cup gold medals in team events (twice in 10m air pistol mixed team events, once in the 25m pistol women’s team event, and once in the 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team event).
In May 2023, at the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Rhythm broke a 29-year-old world record by scoring 595 in the 25m pistol women’s qualification round, surpassing the previous record of 594 by Diana Iorgova.
In the ISSF World Championships 2023 in Baku, Rhythm and her 25m pistol women’s team clinched the gold medal.
Asian Games 2022 gold medal
Rhythm celebrated her first Asian Games medal at the Asian Games 2022 with a gold medal in the 25m pistol women’s team event along with Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh.
How did Rhythm Sangwan qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics?
Esha Singh and Palak Gulia booked India’s two Paris 2024 Olympics quotas in the 10m air pistol women’s event.
However, in the four-stage national selection trials, Rhythm Sangwan finished in second place with a final average score of 578.53 to secure her Paris 2024 Olympics ticket.
Interestingly, Rhythm confirmed the Indian Paris 2024 Olympics quota in the 25m pistol women’s event after winning a bronze medal at the Asian Shooting Championships 2024 in Jakarta. However, she finished in third place in the national selection trials (final average score of 582.20) and narrowly missed out on her Paris 2024 Olympics place in the 25m pistol women’s event.

Rhythm Sangwan will participate in two events at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She will represent India in the 10m air pistol women's and 10m air pistol mixed team (along with Arjun Singh Cheema) events.
