Anish Bhanwala: Early life
Anish Bhanwala was born on 26 September 2002. He is from Karnal, Haryana. His father is an advocate who has provided full support to the children in their sports careers.
Shined as a modern pentathlon athlete
In his early days, Anish was a modern pentathlon athlete, from which he chose the shooting sport as his future. He represented India at the U12 modern pentathlon Championships 2012 and the Asian modern pentathlon Championships 2013.
Since their teenage, Anish and his elder sister Muskan Bhanwala (ISSF Junior World Cup 2018 gold medalist in the 25m pistol women's junior event) have shined in shooting.
The youngest Indian to win a gold medal at the CWG
Anish first grabbed the global media attention during the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast, where the 15-year-old became the youngest Indian to win a CWG gold medal as he won the 25m rapid fire pistol title.

In the ISSF Junior World Cup, he secured two individual gold medals (in 2018 Sydney and 2019 Suhl) in the 25m rapid fire pistol men's junior event.
Anish also clinched World Championship gold medals in the 25m standard pistol men's junior event in 2017 (by creating a world record) and the 25m rapid fire pistol team men's junior event in 2021. In fact, in the ISSF Junior World Championships 2017, Anish recorded two golds (one individual), two silvers (one individual), and one bronze medal.
In the ISSF Junior Cup 2022 in Suhl, Anish and his teammate won the gold medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol team men's junior event.

In the ISSF World Cup 2022 in Cairo, Anish shined with team gold and silver medals in the 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team event and 25m rapid fire pistol team men event, respectively. He also claimed another silver medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol team men's event at the ISSF World Cup 2022 in Changwon.

Recently, his most important success was winning a bronze medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol men's event in the ISSF World Cup Final 2023 in Doha. In ISSF World Cup Final history, he became the first Indian to win a medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol men's event.

With a bronze medal at the Asian Shooting Championships 2023 in Changwon, Anish Bhanwala secured an Indian quota for the Paris 2024 Olympics in the 25m rapid fire pistol men’s event.
