Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar: Early life
Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar was born on 3rd February 2001 in Ratanpur village, Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh. His father is a farmer. Tomar learned the shooting sport from his cousin Navdeep Singh Rathore.
In 2015, Tomar joined the Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy in Bhopal to learn the shooting sport.
Early successes
Since 2019, Tomar has been shining with international successes. In the ISSF Junior World Cup 2019 in Suhl, he won the gold medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions men’s junior event.
Participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics
Tomar represented India in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in 2021, where he finished at 21st place in the 50m rifle 3 positions men event with a score of 1167.
Recent performances
In the World Championships 2021 in Lima, Tomar secured the gold and silver medals in the 50m rifle 3 positions men’s junior and 50m rifle 3 positions mixed team junior events, respectively. In the World Championships 2022 in Cairo, he was also a part of the bronze medal-winning Indian 50m rifle 3 positions men’s team.
Tomar won one gold medal each in the ISSF World Cup 2021 (in New Delhi), 2022 (in Changwon), and 2023 (in Cairo) in the 50m rifle 3 position men’s events. Also, he shined with another gold medal in the Asian Championships 2023 in Changwon in the 50m rifle 3 position men’s event.
Dominated the Asian Games 2022 with four medals
In the Asian Games 2022, Tomar won a bronze medal in the 10m air rifle men’s event, and a silver medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions men’s event. Also, he was a part of two gold medal-winning teams (10m air rifle men’s team and 50m rifle 3 positions men’s team).

Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran secured two Indian Paris 2024 quotas in the 50m rifle 3 positions men. Tomar also secured two quota points for the selection trials in the category of deemed quota holder.
In the four-stage national selection trials for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Tomar finished on top among the challengers, who scored 590 or more thrice. With the final average score of 593 (average of the best of three + any quota point), Tomar booked his ticket for the upcoming Summer Olympics.
During the national selection trials at the MP State Shooting Academy ranges in Bhopal in February 2024, Tomar had set a previous world record score of 466.4 in the final.
