- Key Article Summary: Sahil Chauhan recorded the fastest T20 century, the highest score in a T20I chase, most sixes in a T20I innings
While the cricket world is busy
experiencing the low-scoring thrillers in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in
the West Indies and USA, Estonian cricketer Sahil Chauhan has suddenly grabbed
global attention with the fastest T20 century. His 27-ball hundred against
Cyprus in a T20I match broke Chris Gayle’s famous 30-ball century record in the
IPL 2013.
It was the second game of the
six-match T20I series between the hosts Cyprus and the visitors Estonia on
Monday (17 June 2024). While Cyprus scored 191/7 in 20 overs, Estonia were once
struggling at 89/4 in 6.3 overs.
However, Sahil Chauhan’s stormy
batting quickly destroyed the hosts. After scoring a 14-ball fifty, he
completed his maiden T20I century in just 27 balls.
With his 27-ball hundred, Chauhan scored 144 not out in 41 balls with a strike-rate of 351.21. The number four right-handed batter smashed six fours and 18 sixes in that victorious game as Estonia took a 2-0 series lead after successfully chasing the target in 13 overs by losing four wickets.

Sahil Chauhan: A day of a golden duck and the fastest T20 century
The Estonian team is touring
Cyprus for the six-match T20I series, while the first two matches were played
on Monday, 17 June 2024, at Happy Valley Ground.
Estonia won both matches by
successfully chasing 190+ targets. While Shahil Chauhan is now shining with his
fastest century in T20 cricket history, he achieved this marvelous record
during the second game of the series.
Meanwhile, in the series opener, while Estonia were chasing the 196-run target, Chauhan scored a golden duck as he was caught out. However, no one now cares about his golden duck, which didn't even cost the game for his team.
