While the legendary Caribbean cricketer Chris Gayle is a mile ahead in the list of most T20 centuries with 22 hundreds, Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam became the only second batter to record ten T20 centuries.
Last Monday (7 August), Babar Azam became the first batter to score a century in the Sri Lankan Lanka Premier League 2023. The right-handed batter also became the first Pakistan cricketer, third overseas player and fourth batter to score a century in LPL history.
It was the match between Colombo Strikers and Galle Titans at Pallekele, where Babar scored his first T20 century in Sri Lanka. His 104 off 59 balls (eight fours and five sixes) helped Colombo Strikers to chase down the 189 runs target in 19.5 overs after losing three wickets.
Babar Azam: 10 T20 centuries
It was the 10th T20 century for Babar. With that historic century, Babar became the second cricketer, after Chris Gayle (22 T20 centuries), to hit ten centuries in T20 cricket history.
Out of his ten T20 centuries, three were T20 international centuries for the Pakistan national cricket team.
