The PPV Calendar for WWE in 2023 has come to a close and it is time to make the list of the Top 5 WWE PPVs of the year for 2023. This list will not include NXT PPVs and only the main roster Events. The year 2023 was one of the best when it comes to PPVs because it was held outside of the US a lot and the crowds brought it. The match quality has also been one of the best all year. 


Let’s look at the Top 5 WWE PPVs of 2023 and celebrate these shows. 


1) WrestleMania 39 Night 1

It has been 8 months since that night happened but no other WWE PPV has reached the level that WrestleMania 39 Night 1 got to. It was simply one of the best shows put on by WWE and Triple H hit a knockout in this show. The match quality was off the charts as in the co main event it was Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair and it was the best women’s match in WrestleMania history and the best women’s match of the year in all of Wrestling. Then the main event was The Usos vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. This match was the best tag team match of the year and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn won the titles. Truly a special night for WWE. Pat McAfee also made a surprise appearance at this show in a short match against The Miz. Seth Rollins vs Logan Paul also took place at this night and it was one of the best WWE matches for Seth Rollins. Then there was Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio and from the entrances to the match it was great sports entertainment.


2) WWE Backlash 2023 


The WWE Backlash show in Puerto Rico has to be the second best PPV of the year for WWE. The insane match quality Matched with the loud crowd throughout the night was a sight to behold. Bianca Belair vs Iyo Sky was a match that was one of the best women’s matches of the year and the best match for both these women. It was the match that catapulted Iyo Sky to stardom. Then the Street fight between Bad Bunny vs Damian Priest was exceptional and it was a lot of fun. Bad Bunny’s entrance was the best WWE entrance of the year and Carlito returned this year. Then there was a 6 man tag team match that was great as well and 3 Matches being so great means an incredible show.


3) WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023 


Survivor Series WarGames 2023 has to be in the Top 3 shows of the year for WWE and it had the most shocking moment in WWE history. The match quality at the show was top notch as well and the Chicago crowd was at their loudest as more than 17,000 fans were there. The Women’s WarGames Match was the best women’s WarGames Match in history and the women gave it their all. It was Damage Ctrl vs Team Charlotte with Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch. It was an incredible match. Then the Men’s WarGames Match was also absolutely amazing and the men were great. It was Judgement Day vs Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins. During the closing stages of the match Randy Orton returned and the crowd went wild. After the match something happened that took this show to number 3 as CM Punk returned back to WWE in shocking fashion after 10 years. 


4) WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 


WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 was held in Montreal Canada and it was one of the Top 5 WWE shows of the year without a doubt. This show has had incredible matches and the crowd was one of the best of the year. The Women’s Elimination Chamber match was incredible and Asuka won the match. Then there was the Men’s Elimination Chamber match which was one of the best in history and all 6 men were great. Austin Theory won the match for the United States Championship. Edge and Beth Phoenix had a very good Mixed tag team match and in the main event Roman Reigns beat Sami Zayn in one of the matches of the year and the fans wanted to see Sami Zayn win. There were 4 great matches of this show.


5) WWE Money in the Bank 2023 


The show at number 5 is Money in the Bank 2024 and there are a number of reasons. More than 20,000 fans were there in London and the match quality was top notch. Damian Priest won the Men’s Money in the Bank in a great ladder match. For the women it was Iyo Sky who won the briefcase and she won the best women’s money in the bank ladder match. Then in the main event one of the best tag team matches of the year as it was the Bloodline Civil War. It was The Usos vs Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. It was a 32 minutes match and the crowd was in edge and in the end Jey Uso pinned Roman Reigns at the end and the finish shocked everyone.
