The last show before WWE Clash at the Castle was WWE SmackDown and it was held at Glasgow Scotland at the Ovo Hydro in front of 11,000 loud fans. The Grayson Waller Effect with DIY
The Grayson Waller Effect was one of the best segments of the show. It was the show featuring Grayson Waller and Austin Theory and they had special guests which were Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa. This was a segment in which Johnny Gargano told Austin Theory that he has always been proud of him and that Waller is using him. WWE are slowly building to a face then for Austin Theory. At the end Austin Theory was sacrificed once again.
Baron Corbin turns face against LWO
This was a match between Santos Escobar vs Apollo Crews. The match was very good but the talking point from this match was the return of Baron Corbin. The fans in Scotland lost their minds and he attacked LWO and turned face kn the process. Santos Escobar still beat Apollo Crews but Baron Corbin has a new direction in WWE and the fans are ready to get behind him.
Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles went face to face
This was easily the best segment of this show as it was two masters at work. It was Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles being at the top of their game in this promo segment. AJ Styles mentioned NJPW, ROH and a reference to AEW as he was attacking Cody Rhodes for quitting all these places. Cody Rhodes replied that he bet on himself every single time. Cody Rhodes said that AJ Styles had to pretend to be Mark Henry to get a WWE Championship title match. This was masterful and it raised the stakes of their I Quit Match.
LA Knight invades Logan Paul and Carmelo Hayes declares for Money in the Bank
First there was a segment in the home of Logan Paul in Puerto Rico. LA Knight was in the pool of Logan Paul and this was a very effective segment. LA Knight has become the master of the home invasion in WWE. Then after that it was Carmelo Hayes who came through the crowd and he declared for the Money in the Bank. Jey Uso and Carmelo Hayes have declared so far.
Solo Sikoa best Kevin Owens
It was time for the main event of the show and it was Solo Sikoa vs Kevin Owens. This was the best match in the main roster career of Solo Sikoa. This was a long match and Kevin Owens gave everything he had but it was Solo Sikoa who won this important match. Paul Heyman was saved by Solo Sikoa. After the match The Bloodline wanted to attack Kevin Owens but then Randy Orton returned to a pop for the ages.
