The latest NXT PPV is in the books and it was a really good show from top to bottom and the matches were good to one match being one of the best matches of the year. This show was held in Texas and more than 4000 fans had come to watch the show and they were treated to greatness. There were a total of 7 Matches that were in the card and all of them were delivered. The NXT Superstars held the prestige of this great name which is known as The Great American Bash.
Let’s look at the results of NXT Great American Bash for 2023
Dragon Lee, Nathan Frazer, Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz beat Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson
This was the first match of this show and this was a showcase match featuring all these 8 very talented wrestlers and they made the most of this opportunity as all of them had their Moments in this match and Lash Legend has improved a lot in the past few months. The guys in this match showed their high flying skills and the women showed their in ring wrestling. The crowd was into this match and this went for 11 minutes and in the end it was the face team that won the match beating the heel team led by Noam Dar. All of these 8 NXT Superstars have bright futures ahead of them.
The Family beat Gallus for NXT Tag Team Titles
This was the first Championship Match that took place in this show and it was between the current championship Gallus which included Wolfgang and Mark Coffey and they were taking on the team of Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo and this was a short 9 minute match and it was a good tag team match but it could have gone on for another 5 minutes as these teams deserved a 15 minutes match. Gallus were at their best as they have been dominant and The Family have been one of the most loved Teams in NXT for a while and it was expected that they would win the titles and now there are entertaining tag team champions.
Roxanne Perez beat Blair Davenport in a Weapons Wild Match
This was the first one on one women’s match on the card and this was a banger and it would be the first of many on this show. This was a highly anticipated match because it featured 2 of the best young female wrestlers in NXT and Roxanne Perez was involved in such a match for the first time in her career. This was a 12 minute match and the length was perfect and these 2 women beat the crap out of each other as they used all types of weapons in this match including chairs, tables, ladders etc. They wanted to hurt each other and Roxanne Perez showed a side that the fans have not seen before and Blair Davenport used all her experience to put on an incredible match and in the end Roxanne Perez won by pinfall.
Gable Steveson vs Baron Corbin ended in a double count out
This was the only disappointment in the entire show as there were high hopes from Gable Steveson because he is an Olympic Gold Medalist and he was put in there with the most hated man in WWE in the hopes that the fans would cheer for Gable Steveson but the ip opposite happened as Baron Corbin was cheered for the first time in his career and the fans let Gable know that he is not the next Kurt Angle. This match went for 7 minutes and then it ended in a double count out and the fans in the arena were not happy.
Dominik Mysterio best Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali for NXT North American Championship
This was one of the most anticipated matches ok the entire show and the anticipation was Only for 1 man and that was Dominik Mysterio because everyone wanted to see how the fans would react to him in an NXT show but it was the same as he was booked out of the building and Rhea Ripley was there with him. Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali got cheered and the match started and it was fast paced as Dominik Mysterio got taken out quickly and the other 2 were wrestling good but then Rhea Ripley interfered in the match and this was a 12 minutes match and Dominik Mysterio retained his NXT North American Championship and his reign of terror continues.
Tiffany Straton beat Thea Hail for NXT Women’s Championship
This was the second women’s match on this show and this was a submission match where Thea Hail took on the champion Tiffany Straton who was dressed as a Barbie and the match was a very good one and far better than anyone had hoped. A submission match did not deter these women from showing what they gave got to show and in the 12 minutes that they were given these 2 women made the most of it and Thea Hail looked very good for just 19 years old and in the end it was Tiffany Straton who submitted Thea Hail and retained her NXT Women’s Championship and she will have a long reign.
Carmelo Hayes beat Ilja Dragunov for NXT Championship
This was the main event of the show and the first thing that everyone needs to know is that this match was 24 minutes long which is double than the second longest match on the show. Carmelo Hayes vs Ilja Dragunov was a highly anticipated match because the fans knew what they could do together but as the match was going on , everyone realized that they underestimated these 2 as these 2 men were having a war and Ilja Dragunov pushed the champion to his absolute limit and they were reversing moves left and right and hitting each other with insane spots. The crowd got their money's worth as this was the best NXT Match this year and easily one of the Top 5 WWE Matches of the year so far. Carmelo Hayes just retained his NXT Championship by the skin of his teeth. This match was an all time classic and the match that this show will be remembered for.
