The 2023 Indian Women’s League or IWL season will start on 26 April 2023 with the group stages and will run until May 13, 2023, before the knockout stages begin. 16 teams have been divided into two groups of eight with the top four sides from each group qualifying for the quarterfinals. It will be followed by the semifinals and the final to be played later that month. The top eight teams will also get direct slots in next season’s Hero IWL, which will be played on a home-and-away basis.
Group A consists of defending champions Gokulam Kerala FC willing to add a record-extending third title to their name. They open their campaign with a thrilling clash against East Bengal FC. The center of attention in Group B will be Odisha FC for their star-studded signings as they battle against former winners Sethu Madurai FC of Tamilnadu and Eastern Sporting Union of Manipur. All the games will be hosted in Ahmedabad, Gujrat and played over two venues - Shahibaug Police Stadium and Transstadia. Two kickoff times are allocated for the matches, a morning kick-off at 8 and an afternoon at 4:30.
