The Impact Player Rule that has been introduced this year is one of the major reasons that IPL this season has been so competitive. It is because now each team gets to play with 12 players instead of 11 and very talented players who used to sit in the bench and not getting to play, they are getting to showcase their skills and the biggest example of the impact player rule working is Suyash Sharma from KKR. He has become a household name because of this rule. And each team has been made more balanced by this rule and thus any team can beat anyone.
Home and Away Format is having a big impact
Probably the biggest change that has happened this year as compared to the few previous seasons was the fact that this year the teams are playing in the home and away format and this has allowed the teams to get some sort of home advantage but the stats from this season are surprising because more matches have been won by the away teams this year and the less dominance of the home teams has also impacted the season. Gujarat Titans have won all their away matches so far this season. It shows that any team can beat the other team at any venue.
The level of batting and bowling has gone up
It is also no secret that the level of batting and bowling each season has continued to go up and this season it has been truly remarkable to see how the batters have taken their game to the next level and till now 30 scores of more than 200 have been made and 19 Matches are left and scores are being chased down left and right.
