With bowling figures of 3.3-0-5-5, MI pacer Akash Madhwal became the first bowler to claim a five-wicket haul in an IPL Playoff game. Later, Gujarat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma also recorded a five-wicket haul in another IPL Playoff match (2.2-0-10-5).
With bowling figures of 3.3-0-5-5, MI pacer Akash Madhwal also equalled the record of best bowling figures by an Indian in IPL history. Former Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble (Royal Challengers Bangalore) also had the bowling figures of 3.1-1-5-5 against Rajasthan Royals at Cape Town on 18 April 2009.
