After talking about the Top 5 Most Expensive Foreign Buys of IPL Auction 2023, we will now talk about the most expensive Indian buys from the IPL auction that took place yesterday. As good as it is to see the foreign players get the money that they deserve , I as an Indian get even more elated seeing top Indian players as well as uncapped players getting the money and the chance of earning for their families.
Before we talk about the most expensive Indian players, I want to say that it was gratifying to see domestic performances being rewarded and that the teams were willing to bet on unknown Indian names at this auction. So, let’s talk about the Top 5 Most Expensive Indian Buys at IPL Auction 2023.
Mayank Agarwal – 8.25 Crores (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
The most expensive Indian player in the IPL auction was not a surprise as we all expected it to be Mayank Agarwal. He is one of the best Indian players of all time and he would be looking to have a good year with his new team and justifying the faith that the Sunrisers Hyderabad have shown in him. He would then be in demand for the next IPL auction.
Shivam Mavi - 6.00 Crores (Gujarat Titans)
The second most expensive Indian player at this auction was Shivam Mavi and he has the knack of going for big bucks at every IPL auction because Indian fast bowlers are in high demand and their supply is short so he is always in demand and he is in the champion side and will be looking to add his skills to the team.
Mukesh Kumar – 5.5 Crores (Delhi Capital)
One of the best Stories of this IPL auction was the story of Mukesh Kumar and he was one of most sought after players in the IPL auction because he is a left arm swing bowler and he is doing very well in the domestic season and so I am very happy that his performances have been rewarded and I hope that he is able to put on a good show.
Vivrant Sharma – 2.60 Crores (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
I have said before that the IPL auctions are about unearthing a talent that will go on to play for India or other countries and one such talent that was found in the auction was Vivrant Sharma from Jammu and Kashmir and KKR and SRH were going for him and he could not have believed that his life was about to change and he deserves every bit of it and I hope that he is able to perform and get some games.
Manish Pandey – 2.4 Crores (Delhi Capitals)
The 5th most expensive Indian player is a surprise as I would have hoped that Manish Pandey will have gone for much higher. Manish Pandey is one of the original IPL stars and it is sad that his stock has fallen down so much but I hope that Delhi Capitals will give him the opposition to shine and get back in the reckoning.
