Trading their top run-getter:
The last day witnessed Ajinkya Rahane traded to Delhi Capitals in exchange for Mayank Markande and Rahul Tewatia.
Rahane was the top run-getter of RR who scored 2810 runs. He played his last T20 for India in 2016. Tewatia, bowling all-rounder will be returning to the team with which he kick started his IPl career in 2014.
Trent Boult will add to Mumbai’s home advantage:
At least three franchise was in the lookout for Trent Boult. Mumbai bought Trent Boult for cash. However, it is not confirmed if Mumbai paid anything extra over the hammer price of INR 2.2 crore, which Delhi bought him for.
Boult shared a message for the Mumbai team after joining the squad and showed his excitement in joining the four-time IPL champions.
A shift in the journey for the only uncapped player to have recorded a five-wicket haul
Kings XI Punjab traded fast bowler Ankit Rajpoot to the Royals. He holds the record for the only uncapped player to have a five-wicket haul in the tournament. He was signed for INR 3 crore and is said to be a smart pick by the Royals.
Something striking and surprising
Mayank Makrande was with three teams within the span of 6 months. One of the earliest trades were of Mayank’s. He was traded from Mumbai Indians to Delhi Capitals earlier when the trade window began in June. However, he was traded to Rajasthan Royals for exchange of Ajinkya Rahane on the last day. The youngster was transferred twice and that made it the most surprising trade of IPL 2020.
Mumbai Indians went on to add Dhawal Kulkarni and Sherfane Ruthford. Siddesh Lad, who played for Mumbai since 2015 was traded to Kolkata Knight Riders. All Rounder Krishnappa Gowtham was traded by the Royals to Kings XI Punjab.
Simultaneously, the franchises submitted their final list of retained and released players on 14 November. Each franchise along with their remaining balance left from 2019 auction, will have an additional INR 3 crore added to the balance as announced by BCCI. Moving on to the auctions on December 19, the Trading Window has absolutely ended on a high note boosting the excitement level of IPL 2020.
