The IPL 2023 season is half way through and there have been a lot of runs scored, a lot of great innings already played and a lot of thrillers. However the most impressive thing to see has been the comeback of some of the IPL and Indian cricket greats who were out of the spotlight for a number of years have suddenly this year come into the spotlight and these players have shown they still have what it takes to play at the highest level.
All these players are great Indian players who had lost their footing in the previous seasons of the IPL and the fans have loved seeing these greats perform at their best yet again and they play for different teams in the IPL this season.
So, let’s look at the Top 5 Players who have made great comebacks in IPL 2023 -
1) Ajinkya Rahane – Chennai Super Kings
It looks like whichever player Chennai Super Kings and especially Dhoni touches turns to gold and the latest example of that is Ajinkya Rahane who has been in scintillating form in this IPL season and he has only played the 5 Matches so far but the impact he has had is incredible. He has scored 209 runs so far and by the way he is batting he will cross the 400 run mark. The most impressive thing is the strike rate at which he is batting because he is Scoring these runs at a strike rate of 199 and will cross 200 in the next match. He has made 2 Half centuries with a best of 71* from just 29 balls.

2) Mohit Sharma – Gujarat Titans
The story of Mohit Sharma is the story of the common man who works harder than everyone and after waiting he will get the desired results for those efforts. Mohit Sharma is an IPL legend and he has won the IPL as well with Chennai Super Kings and he was also the winner of the purple cap and he has played for India. So for him to go as a net Bowler and work harder than everyone all year and then he gets his chances this year and he has taken 4 wickets till now and has won 2 Matches for Gujarat Titans. He will pick many more wickets this IPL season.
3) Piyush Chawla – Mumbai Indians
Piyush Chawla is an all time IPL legend and he is in the Top 5 highest wicket takers of all time. And last season he was a commentator and this IPL season he has been the best bowler for the Mumbai Indians and he has been used as an Impact Player very well and he has taken 9 wickets so far in IPL 2023 and going by the way he is bowling it should not be shocking if he gets more than 20 wickets in IPL 2023. Piyush Chawla has taken 166 wickets so far in 171 IPL Matches.
4) Amit Mishra – Lucknow Supergiants
Just like Piyush Chawla, Amit Mishra is also one of the greatest IPL bowlers of all time as he is also in the Top 5 highest Wicket takers in IPL history. He has taken 170 Wickets in 158 Matches and he is the only bowler to have taken 3 IPL bat tricks. In IPL 2023 he has been great for Lucknow Supergiants as he has taken 4 wickets so far at an economy rate of less than 8. And he will continue to be used as an impact player.
5) Sandeep Sharma – Rajasthan Royals
Sandeep Sharma is an IPL legend in his own right and it is a Shane that he was not able to play for India. Sandeep Sharma has played for various IPL teams but since the last few seasons he was not able to have the desired impact and he was unsold in the IPL auction but he was called in ad a replacement and he has performed very well taking 7 Wickets so far and at an economy of less than 8 as well. Sandeep Sharma has played 109 IPL Matches so far and he has got 121 total wickets in IPL.
