9 Players who went unsold at IPL Auction 2023

This IPL auction almost all the deserving players got contracts and it was pleasing to see that players from associate nations were also picked and there is still a long way to go . However, like every year there are still very good players who went unsold and in this article we will talk about those players and I could find a list of 8 players so we will talk about those 9 players in this article.

Before we get into the list of the 9 that I feel missed out , I have to say that in this IPL auction the teams granted talent their opportunities and we will get to see the best of the best in action all around the country. So, let’s talk about the list of 9 players who went unsold.

James Neesham- New Zealand

The first player that I want to talk about is James Neesham from New Zealand because he is a big player and someone that is known around the world for his exploits in the shortest format and he would have been a good get for any of the IPL teams but his base price was too high and so no one sent for him.

Travis Head – Australia

I was surprised to see that this extremely talented Australia batter was not picked by any team at the IPL auction. Travis Head is someone that is in great form and he would have added so much to the team but I think that he did not fit in the team combination and there were other players that the teams wanted before him.

Rassie Van Der Dussen – South Africa

This is the name in this list that has shocked me the most because Rassie Van Der Dussen is one of the best white ball batters in the world and it us a shock that none of the IPL teams went for him and his base price was high but he was worth the money. A missed opportunity for all 10 teams.

Adam Milne- New Zealand

The fourth name that I want to talk about is Adam Milne from New Zealand. He is one of the most promising young fast bowlers and he would have been a lethal fast bowler to any team and he is a team player and so I think he is unlucky to have missed out on an IPL contract.

Chris Jordan – England

Not all England players were in demand at the IPL auction because Chris Jordan found no takers in the auction and that is a bit surprising to me because generally he is someone that is picked by the IPL teams and is often played by them in the 11.

Tabraiz Shamsi – South Africa

The second player from South Africa on this list and again this is a shocking name because Tabraiz Shamsi is the number 1 bowler in the world in this format and surely some team would have been interested in him and I think this is a shame that he was not able to get any buyers.

Wayne Parnell – South Africa

The third player from South Africa and this is a player that was getting better with every match and series he was playing and why he did not get picked is beyond me. I think the teams must have something against players from South Africa or why would they leave out 3 of the best players from that nation.

Kusal Mendis – Sri Lanka

Kusal Mendis is the first of the 2 Sri Lankan players in this list and he is someone who is so talented and he deserved an IPL team and he would have been a great asset to any team and he would have added so much to IPL.

Dushmantha Chameera – Sri Lanka

The last player in this list that we will Talk about is the fast bowler from Sri Lanka who was in demand last year and this year he went unsold and I am shocked why that is the case because he has performed well and he will be missed in the IPL and Lucknow did a bad thing by letting him go.
