Spanish Grand Prix 2023 Results

The latest race of the Formula 1 Grand Prix was the Spanish Grand Prix which was held yesterday and this was yet another race where all the drivers were at their best and they all tried to get points for the season forward and there were stars that lines up to see them . Formula 1 has become a global sport which attracts the best of all worlds and all other sports as well. This race was a good one but there was one leader throughout.

The fans in Barcelona are one of the most passionate Formula 1 fans in the world and they again showed up to the race and they got a spectacle and this was one race where leaving the leader the rest 19 drivers were having a competitive race. So, let’s look at the results.


Race Results

The lights go out and Max Verstappen takes the lead of the race with Carlos Sainz at number 2 and Lance Stroll is upto P3. Lap 3 and George Russell is at P7 and Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll have done overtakes as well. It is Lap 5 and Max Verstappen is 2 seconds ahead of Carlos Sainz and then Lance Stroll, Lewis Hamilton followed by Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso and George Russell. Lap 8 and Lewis Hamilton passes Lance Stroll to get to number 3 and he is driving well. Lap 11 and George Russell is having a great race as he is now in P5 from P12 and both the Alfa Romeo and Haas cars have pitted. Lap 14 and Lewis Hamilton is pushing for P2 and is seconds behind Carlos Sainz. Lap 20 and Max Verstappen is 8 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz.

It is Lap 23 and Pierre Gasly has the fastest lap of the race and neither of the Top 4 have pitted and it will be very important to see who makes the right moves. Pierre Gasly is having the best laps of his season as he gets past Charles Leclerc, Nyck De Vries and Nico Hulkenberg and Lewis Hamilton pits and he has a good stop. Lap 28 and George Russell says there is rain falling and finally Lewis Hamilton gets to P2 and George Russell is chasing Carlos Sainz. Lap 31 and the Spanish fans are not happy to see Fernando Alonso struggling and George Russell was sweating when he said it was rain falling. It is Lap 34 of the race and Sergio Perez is at 5th spot and George Russell gets past Carlos Sainz to get to P3. Lap 37 and Max Verstappen laps Lando Norris and is 15 seconds ahead in the race and the winner is almost over.

Lap 41 and Lewis Hamilton is having the best race of the season so far as he has maintained his P2 spot and George Russell is at P3. Carlos Sainz pits for hard tyres at Lap 43 and comes out 19 seconds behind Sergio Perez. Lap 47 as George Russell opts for the soft tyres which could be risky with 20 laps to go. It is Lap 50 and George Russell is chasing Sergio Perez for the final podium spot as the race gets interesting. It is Lap 51 and Sergio Perez gets soft tyres which should be good for the rest of the race and the fans cheer as Fernando Alonso gets to P7. Lap 57 and the battle for P3 heats up as Sergio Perez chases down George Russell and they will fight it out till the end. Lap 63 and Yuki Tsonuda gets a 5 second penalty and Max Verstappen gets the fastest lap of the racer. The race is over and Max Verstappen wins the race with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell In P2 and P3 respectively.
