The 25-year-old Czech Republic left-handed opening batter Sabawoon Davizi recently equalled English cricketer Dawid Malan’s world record of fastest to complete 1000 T20I runs.
Recently, during the fourth game of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifier Group B, when the Czech Republic faced France at Kerava in the Group 2 game on 24th July 2022, the opener Sabawoon Davizi completed his 1000 T20I runs in 24 innings.
Before that match, the left-handed opening batter Davizi was 11 runs short of 1000 T20I runs. He scored exactly 11 runs in that game to complete 1000 T20I runs in 24 innings.

Dawid Malan first recorded 1000 T20I runs in 24 innings
In March 2021, English cricketer Dawid Malan created a world record as he became the fastest to complete 1000 T20I runs. Breaking the previous record holder Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam’s record of 1000 T20I runs in 26 innings, Malan completed 1000 runs in his T20I career in 24 innings. Now, Sabawoon Davizi has equalled this world record.

Davizi made his T20I debut on 18th October 2019, when Malta hosted the Czech Republic at Marsa. On his T20I debut, opener Davizi scored 91 runs, which was then a record score for a T20I debutant opener (currently the second highest score in this category).
The joint fastest 1000 T20I run-scorer Davizi already hit three centuries and five half-centuries in 24 T20I innings. While Davizi became the fastest batter to complete three T20I centuries (21 innings), only the Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has hit more T20I centuries than this Czech Republic left-handed cricketer.
Moreover, Davizi has also scored two more nineties in his early T20I career. Apart from 91 runs on his T20I debut, the left-handed opening batter also scored 98 not out against Gibraltar at Marsa on 11th May 2022.
