Who are the main competitors of WWE in professional wrestling

WWE has been around for more than 40 years as a worldwide promotion under Vince McMahon and WWE has become the gold standard in professional wrestling with the way the company has expanded in these last 4 decades. And there have been some great competitors that have tried to do better than WWE and they have made WWE and Vince McMahon work harder. Competition is always good for any big business and it means that WWE will always have to up their game.

This is the most competitive the Wrestling space has ever been and WWE has major competition for the first time in 20+ years and it is motivating WWE to do better and the wrestlers have more options of getting a bigger income for themselves.

So, let’s look at the competitors of WWE currently:

All Elite Wrestling

This is the biggest competitor for WWE since the last 4 years. This company has been on the air since 2019 and it has been founded by Tony Khan and it is giving WWE a good competition. It is selling out arenas and it became the first wrestling promotion in 20 years to sell more than 10,000 tickets other than WWE. Some of the top wrestlers like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, CM Punk and so many more were or are with the company. AEW recently announced Wembley Stadium as the venue for All In and they are taking a big risk with this event. AEW haa 2 shows airing called Dynamite and Rampage.

New Japan Pro Wrestling

The second biggest competitor of WWE in the wrestling world has been NJPW and this company has been here for as long as WWE has been around but up until recently it was not able to compete with WWE at the highest level. It is said that the best wrestlers have come from NJPW and they have some of the best Matches Ever. NJPW has a 2 night event every January called Wrestle Kingdom at the Tokyo Dome and it sells out every year. NJPW has a World Championship, An United States Championship and an International Championship like WWE. However their partnership with AEW has made them a bigger competitor.

Impact Wrestling

At number 3 comes Impact Wrestling and this is a company that had so much potential to be the biggest competitor for WWE but politics at the top ruined the chances of it. Some of the best wrestlers and the biggest stars like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles were from that company. They have never been able to sell out a show with more than 10,000 fans. Impact Wrestling works hard like it is doing now and the politics can be put to the side then it can become a major competition for WWE as well.
