Once Vince McMahon retired from WWE everyone speculated that WWE will be going in a downward spiral and that the ticket sales will not be as high and it will take time to get back to that pace. However, what we have seen is the complete opposite as WWE have recorded record ticket sales and sell outs for event after event and PPV after PPV. This is not a coincidence and there has to be a few reasons behind it which we will try and look into in this article.
Before I get on with the reasons, I have to say that being a WWE fan right now is so exciting because who would have thought that a show like Extreme Rules will become one of the most looked forward shows of the year and it is simply because all the Matches are great and the stipulations involved in the matches are so different from each other. This PPV is a sell out in Philadelphia. Now let’s look at the reasons that WWE has seen record ticket sales in the past few months
Great Stories
The first reason is that there are great Stories across the 2 brands which had hooked the viewers in from the word go and these are different stories and all the fans have something to look forward To. Ever since the time Triple H has come in charge, a renewed focus has been given to the stories being told. For example The story of Damage Ctrl taking control of the Raw Women’s division in 3 months and now Bayley has a chance to complete the triple. The story between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle leading to the fight pit and many more.
Great Characters
The second most important reason according to me is great characters and great factions on WWE. The art of making compelling characters was lost for a while and now WWE has so many great characters like The Judgement Day has risen in prominence and all 4 members are great characters, Seth Rollins is a great character as The Visionary. Then The Bloodline is the most important story and there are so many compelling elements with Sami Zayn as the Honorary Uce, Jey uso not liking Sami but Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns liking him. Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan have become good characters.

The Matches are different and great
This is another big reason for fans coming to WWE shows because they trust that the matches will be of the highest quality and they will not get to see repetition of matches for weeks on. The wrestlers are more excited to work with different talent and there are different types of Matches we see. The best example is the card for Extreme Rules and the Survivor Series will feature 2 WarGames Matches as well. And this will continue as more time passes by.
Excitement for the shows and what Surprises we might get
This is a long heading but I think this is one of the most important reasons that fans want to be present at these shows because they are excited about what might happen at the show and they do not want to miss it. There could be Surprises coming at each show as Triple H is a master of keeping things secret and for example a lot of fans are going to Extreme Rules for the potential White Rabbit Reveal. WWE has sold a record 25,000+ tickets in 4 days for the 2023 Royal Rumble and more than 100,000+ combined tickets for the 2 night WrestleMania 39.
