The WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Press Conference was one of the most successful events in WWE history. It has over 100 million views in just the first 12 hours which was a record for WWE in its history. Over 4.7 Million live viewers were watching the Press Conference live across different WWE social media platforms which is also the highest non in-ring viewed livestream of all time. The most important thing that happened at this Event was The Rock turning heel and joining Roman Reigns and The Rock became the High Chief of The Bloodline.
Let’s talk as to why this pairing as a heel team was genius
The Rock and Roman Reigns formed a super Bloodline
The entire press conference was about 1 hour and 15 minutes and the last 30 minutes was all about the main event segment. This was a masterpiece on how to do big business thinking about the long term. The Rock was acting heelish and it all started at the Pat McAfee show where he threw shade at the fans of Cody Rhodes. During the end of the press conference, Cody Rhodes insulted Roman Reigns by saying that the grandfather of Roman Reigns and The Rock would be ashamed of Roman Reigns. This angered The Rock as he stepped up to Cody Rhodes looking like the actual head of the Bloodline. He told Cody Rhodes that when he talks about the family, ancestors and the blood of Roman Reigns, he is also talking about The Rock. He then went on to slap Cody Rhodes which was heard around the world.
None of the WWE fans expected to see The Rock and Roman Reigns on the same page. This was like seeing two mob bosses coming together and The Rock being the final boss of The Bloodline. They even left the arena together. The Rock is an actual High Chief of The Bloodline and this was given to him by the King of Samoa 20 years ago. This means that Roman Reigns will have somebody that will be above him. They will try to get all the power as The Rock is also on the Board of Directors in TKO. These 2 will do anything they want and try to derail the momentum of Cody Rhodes leading into WrestleMania 40. The rest of The Bloodline which includes Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa will be strengthened as well. The Rock will be the authority heel who will use his power to step over Cody Rhodes all the time. Triple H will be a man of the people siding with Cody Rhodes.
The Rock and Roman Reigns can help each other out in matches and take out all their opponents one by one. They can also order the younger members of The Bloodline to do their dirty work. The fans will have two strong heels to boo every time they are here and Cody Rhodes will be the face that they will rally behind. The Rock said that he is a long gamer and this is what he meant. He made Cody Rhodes into a bigger star than he already was. They both will be on SmackDown for the next 2 weeks and it will be intimidating for all their enemies. This relationship will fall apart at some point and lead to the match between the 2 at WrestleMania 41. The Rock will use his power and he can insert himself as the special guest referee in the main event for WrestleMania 40. The fans would be worried and these 2 months will be must watch.
