The World Heavyweight Championship tournament kicked off on Raw this week and there were two Triple Threat matches that were held and then the winners of those two matches will be in the main event of Raw to see which superstar wins and goes to the final at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. 12 of the best wrestlers in WWE were announced as a part of this tournament and the Results on Raw did not disappoint the fans.
It was an action packed episode of Raw but the World Heavyweight Championship was the main focus and rightfully so because WWE has to make the new title feel important. So, let’s see the results of Night 1 of World Heavyweight Championship tournament
Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Damian Priest
The first triple Threat match was between three extremely talented WWE superstars and men who are hot right now with the fans. Seth Rollins was the favorite to win this tournament and become the first World Heavyweight Champion but he had to overcome big obstacles to achieve that goal. It was an incredible match as anyone would have expected because these three men were given a lot of time to tell a good story and Damian Priest was all alone as he wanted to prove that he could win the World Heavyweight Championship on his own. Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura were very respectful towards each other but the heel Damian Priest was out to spoil the party but in the end Seth Rollins hit the Frog Splash and then he hit the Pedigree on Shinsuke Nakamura to get the win.

Cody Rhodes vs Finn Balor vs The Miz
The second Triple Threat was equally compelling as it had 3 more incredible WWE superstars and there were 2 heels in this match and Cody Rhodes as the face. Cody Rhodes was not the favorite to win this match and this is what happened because as they were having a barn burner of a match , Brock Lesnar came back and he cost Cody Rhodes the match and he took out Cody Rhodes and Finn Balor hit his finisher and he advanced to the semi final in the main event of Raw and Brock Lesnar took out Cody Rhodes more and challenged him to a fight at Night of Champions.
Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor
This was the main event of Raw and this was the match that the fans wanted to happen because of all the history that was there. Finn Balor beat Seth Rollins to win the Universal Championship and he did not forget how he got injured during the match. They had almost 20 minutes and they had an absolute banger like everyone hoped because these are two of the best and after a great back and forth match, it was Seth Rollins that got the win and he advanced to the final of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament.
