New Zealand cricketer Daryl Mitchell is busy creating histories for his nation. The 31-year-old right-handed batter now became the first New Zealand batter to score 50+ runs in five consecutive Test innings. He also managed to record the most runs for Blackcaps in a Test series consisting of a maximum of three matches.
New Zealand are currently busy in the three-match away Test series against the hosts England which is also a part of the 2021-23 World Test Championship. They are now playing the third or last game of the Test series at Leeds.

Daryl Mitchell: Scored most 50+ scores in consecutive Test innings as a New Zealand cricketer
After scoring 109 runs in the first innings of the Leeds Test, Daryl Mitchell scored 56 runs in their second innings of the Test match. On the fourth day of this Test (26th June), in-form Mitchell completed another half-century and became the first New Zealand cricketer to score 50+ runs in five consecutive Test innings.
Earlier, during this Test match, Mitchell became the first player to score at least one century in every match of an away Test series consisting of three or more Tests. However, in the overall Test series consisting of at least three games, Mitchell became the ninth cricketer to hit at least one century in every match.
On the other hand, Mitchell also became the fifth New Zealand cricketer to hit centuries in three successive Test matches. The other Kiwi batters in this list are Mark Burgess, Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson, and Tom Latham.
Apart from these consistencies, Mitchell is also maintaining at least one 50+ score in all the last four Tests.

Daryl Mitchell: Most runs by a New Zealand cricketer in a Test series (maximum three matches)
Daryl Mitchell also scored 538 runs in this away Test series (six innings) with an average of 107.60, including three centuries and two half-centuries. It is now the most runs by a New Zealand batter in a Test series consisting of a maximum of three Tests.
Their former cricketer Brendon McCullum was the previous record holder in this list as he scored 535 runs in a two-match Test series against India at home in February 2014.
Meanwhile, Mitchell also became the fourth most run-scorer as a New Zealand batter in a bilateral Test series.
