Scoring a double century is always special for any batter in any stage of competitive cricket. But it becomes more special and a talking point of the record book if a batter smashes double centuries in two back-to-back Test innings or matches. Here, we are talking about the Indian cricketers who have recorded double-centuries in back-to-back Test matches.

Vinod Kambli
The left-handed batter Vinod Kambli gained popularity from his school time, thanks to a world-record unbroken 664-run partnership with Sachin Tendulkar. While Kambli was known as a great talent, he proved that during the early days of his international cricket career.
Kambli recorded his first Test century in his fourth innings, where the left-handed batter stretched the score to the double hundred. During the 1993 Wankhede Test against England, Kambli scored 224 runs.
Kambli’s next Test innings was against Zimbabwe during the 1993 Delhi Test, where the left-handed batter scored 227 runs. With that knock, he became the first Indian batter to record double centuries in two consecutive Test innings or matches.
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli also started to impress at a young age as he first earned global popularity by leading the India U19 team to win the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2008.
During his strong international career phase, Kohli recorded double centuries in back-to-back Test innings or matches. Moreover, the right-handed batter was the captain during that special achievement.
After scoring 213 runs against Sri Lanka during the 2017 Nagpur Test, Kohli played his next Test innings in the 2017 Delhi Test against Sri Lanka, where the right-handed batter once again scored 243 runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Just like Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal also gained popularity in his youth cricket career. Even at his young age, the left-handed batter has shown maturity with the bat in senior international cricket.
Unlike Kambli and Kohli, Jaiswal hasn’t recorded double centuries in two consecutive Test innings yet. Still, the young left-handed batter has recorded double-centuries in two back-to-back Test matches.
After scoring 209 runs against England in the 2024 Visakhapatnam Test, which was also his second Test century and first Test double hundred, Jaiswal scored 214 not out in the next game against England during the 2014 Rajkot Test. In between those Test double hundreds, Jaiswal was also dismissed for 17 and 10 runs, respectively.
