After doing the general analysis of the Two Day IPL mega auction and all the different lists that we made it is now time for the really good stuff around the auction as all the 10 teams are complete now and all the franchises had very different auction strategies as well so it is time to discuss every team in detail and look at their auction strategy and do an overall squad analysis.
We will first talk about the most successful team in IPL history and that is the Mumbai Indians who have won the IPL trophy 5 times and thus they deserve to be the first team discussed and their auction strategy was completely different from the other teams. So let’s do a detailed analysis of the Mumbai Indians team.
Auction Strategy :
Mumbai Indians went into the mega auction with 48 crores in their kitty as they had retained 4 players before going into the auction so they had a lesser purse than some of the other teams. Six they were patient as they went for no one in the marquee set in a big way and were just biding their time and then came the name of Ishan Kishan and this was their moment as they went all out for their man and the other teams were also bidding for him but Mumbai wanted him so they bought him after an intense bidding war at 15.25 crores and their strategy paid off. Their second big strategy was unveiled on Day 2 when Jofra Archer came up and yet again they went all out for him and paid 8 Crores for him even though he won’t play this year but this is looking into the future and from next year Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah will bowl together, What a deadly duo that will be.
Squad Analysis :
The Mumbai Indians squad as always is a very strong one but as always there are strengths and weaknesses with it as well so let’s analyze theye squad.

Strengths:
Mumbai Indians were able to retain their core in the auction as they already had 4 players and they were able to get back Ishan Kishan as well so there is 5 members out of the 11 that will play. Other than that they brought very good players such as Jofra Archer abs and young stars like Dewald Brevis and Tim David so they have an explosive batting line-up and can easily score 200 runs every match.
Weaknesses:
As Jofra Archer will not play this season so their bowling attack will be very weak this season as their will be no partner of Jasprit Bumrah in the fast bowling department as Riley Meredith is not as good as Jasprit and as always their spinners are not as good as the other teams so they can concede a lot of runs.
Opportunities:
By buying young players such as Dewald Brevis and Tim David, Mumbai Indians have got two of the future stars of the IPL if groomed right and their bowling attack have the opportunity to show everyone that they can be still as potent even without Jofra Archer this year.
Threats:
This year all the other teams are equally balanced so Mumbai will not find it easy to win the IPL this year and all the teams are a threat to them and especially the bowling attacks of the other teams are better than Mumbai Indians so they will look to take advantage of that.
